I see these names on ebay bids all the time but they never seem to win anything. Does anybody know if they are legit?

If I was a conspiracy theorist I would say that it is an Ebay ploy to up the bids to screw us over and bring in higher commissions. But I can't really believe that as Ebay would be shutdown in no time.

It is part of eBay's privacy policy. You cannot see the actual bidders names on the auctions now. Just a couple letters (not even sure if they are random or not), unless you are the seller.

And you'll never seen one of those names as the winner b/c the high bidders name is revealed when the auction ends.

I see. Makes sense. Thanks for the info guys, at least now I know it's a legit person screwing me over by outbidding me.
