Worst: Hook (there is probably a better one, but that guy's legs broke off for when I was age 7, age 21, and age 31...haha....three completely different toys too!)

 

Not sure about the best since there's a bunch competing for that spot, but one of the worst for me definitely was Rodimus Prime. What an absolute turd of a figure, as a kid I was absolutely disappointed when I finally saw the toy.

 

ooooooo Rodimus Prime...thats a good one. The Arialbots were a little disappointing to me too. G1 Superion had super skinny legs.

 

Well my Overlord isn't great some of his Purple parts have gone pink over time. and he's not been in the sun. so it looks a bit odd when bits are pink and others are still purple.

Mixmaster is more a Chinese puzzle than a toy.

 

G1 Wheelie. Dude was both embarrassingly bad and a little disturbing.

 

Psst guys, the title says G1 toy.

And mixmaster is awesome.

 

Best- Sideswipe. No kibble, easy transformation, but fun and a solid figure in bot mode. alt mode wasn't bad either. just a good, basic figure.

Worst- Megatron. i love his alt mode, but his robot mode is fugly and we didn't get a good one until the MP figure. the G1 Megs is the polar opposite of everything that made Optimus' toy cool.

 

Worst made? Anything with GPS.

 

Best IMO: G1 Astrotrain

Worst: G1 Ironhide/Ratchet

Best based on whats in my collection would be Metroplex.

 

best: scorponok, had him as a child and still have him now.

worst:long haul, mine broke in half at his waist hinge. luckily i could still form devastator as long as i didnt touch him once he was assembled. very close second would be topspin and twin twist, at the time an utter waste of money and plastic. still have them too, i've grown to tolerate them.

 

Best: Jetfire

Worst: Galvatron - a new design for the movie and thats what they come up with? Meh.

 

runabout and runamuck - i got one as a kid (still have it) and it's the worst ever - zero articulation + crappy design + so - so gimmick.

best - metroplex!

 

G1 Rodimus only has arm movement the rest is a brick

 

Best: Insecticons

Worst: Ironhide/Ratchet

 

Worst: Sparkabots.

Best: Ratchet. GET. MAD. He's got a trailer, son. He be dropping mad bombs on yo head wit his tiny yet deadly missile launcher. BOOM. Surprise attack from the medic, A-hos. He's got arms that make women weak in the knees, and heads are for chumps. Heads are an easy target.

Best - Omega Supreme. That dude almost stands up to today's standards.

Worst - Ironhide and Ratchet. They are the two that look the least liek their show counterparts. I will admit adding the little 3rd party heads to them do make them a lot better.

 

Best: Soundwave. Good articulation (neck, universal shoulders and elbows), one of the ONLY G1 figures that can stow his weapons in alt-mode, great proportions, and an awesome gimmick. Ravage gets an honorable mention, since he has an insane amount of articulation even by modern standards, and despite getting a Universe release the G1 version is just better.

Worst: Gonna have to go with Wheelie. And I love the Minivehicles.

 

Best: Soundwave. So iconic

Worst: Rodimus. A straight up doorstop.
