Goo Gone is a great product for this. A few years ago I had a project which involved putting Reprolables on about 30 G1 figures. Using Q-Tips and Goo Gone I was able to remove the old decals (along with other dirt and grime) and put the new ones one. Made my 20+ year old figures look like they were right out of the box. Goo Gone is safe to use on the plastic and die cast. Plus, it smells like oranges.

Be careful with some of the adhesive removal stuff. I've noticed some of it can start to eat away at the plastic as well.

Try a hairdryer and a good pair of pointy tweezers. Hit the sticker with hot air. It should help. Depends on the condition of the decal. I was able to transplant 20+ year old diaclone decals from a junker to a a reissue smokescreen.

Try antibacterial hand sanitizer. That removes residue pretty well. Plus, your Transformers will smell flowery fresh. :D
