Of your Poll, The Usual Suspects and Fight Club had the best twists.

M.Night Shamalamadingdong is a weak hack whose twists at the end are poor ripoffs of decent Twilight Zone episodes.

...and for god's sake man, where's "The Crying Game"?

I'd say Fight Club. The Usual Suspects twist has been done before.

Though I wouldn't call Shamalama a hack. I think people build their expectations of the twist so much in their minds, that when/if it is delivered they feel completely let down and disregarded the quality movie they just watched.

The Empire Strikes Back's twist. For the time, it was huge. It still is if you've been living under a rock and have never heard it before.

Citizen Kane's twist is also pretty good.

    No. Original or GTFO.

My dad spoiled that part of the movie for me before I even saw Star Wars. At the time it didn't really bother me, but looking back on it I think it would've been one helluva jaw-dropper at the time.

Twist-wise? I liked Sixth Sense, Fight Club, and Unbreakable (Shamalamading-dong's other decent movie before his stuff became laughably predictable).

This, but The Crying Game shocker did not hit me as much since I did not get to see that movie until after Stargate.

    Suspect (1987).
    The judge is the killer.

Charade had a great twist also. Never saw that one coming.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to say:

    Fight Club and American Psycho.

Probably because both films have such a strong twist that you get a whole new viewing experience upon watching them a second time.

Psycho had a neat twist for it's time.

I can't think of a single twist ending that genuinely surprised me.

I can think of several that the Simpsons ruined for me in advance. Even someone telling you there's a twist kinda spoils it, because it's much more of a surprise when you're not expecting a surprise.

I don't know if you'd call it a twist ending, but The Dead Zone had one of the more satisfying endings I've seen. Clever, unexpected, tied up the loose ends.

Another one I like is Rosemary's Baby. There's a lot of foreshadowing and it's not exactly a twist, but it's still kinda shocking when it happens, and I love how it plays out.

The only twist in a film that was a surprise to me was in Hide and Seek. However saying that I'd basically guessed it about a third of the way into the film.

Nobody really spoke about the movie when it was in the cinemas so the twist was unknown.

It's not a movie, but my favorite twist was in the Twilight Zone episode 'To Serve Man.'
