What are your favorite Transformer pictures? Screen shots, artwork or whatever?
The G1 box art, originally used in some cases for the Diaclone toys, have always been among my favorite pieces of TF art.
Dreamwave's comic art is primarily the reason why I bought their TF comics.
Does that count?
Otherwise, anything Don Figuero does.
I'm a sucker for the Lithographs and anything involving city bots.
Mega litho! Also, The best of optimus prime cover, There were some really good pieces at the end of Transformers 'for all mankind" TPG.
The city bots litho is awesome!
Regarding pictures of art, Nick Roche stuff are my favorites. LSOTW FTW!
Don Figueroa. Always.
Dinobot as he prepares for his final battle. The image of him standing on the cliff with the sun behind him. That's a powerful moment, by his actions the humans live on. Which later help the Autobots defeat the cons, which later became Predacons.
The moment BW Megatron is hovering over the stasis lock G1 figures. Then he gets to Prime and prepares for the ultimate revenege. The image of him firing on Prime was epic.
Megatron stands outside of the Ark laughing after blasting Prime, creating a time storm. That effect looked awesome as Megatron pointed towards the person watching on tv.
Then in Beast Machines on the final episode. Optimal Megatron walking out of a fiery explosion, with his glowing eyes looking towards Optimus Primal.
Honestly, I'd be much better off discussing what I don't like. This isn't because I wish to be negative - quite the contrary! I've always thoroughly enjoyed artwork and photography of Transformers throughout its history.
The G1 box artwork remains tops for me. There's simply an abstract quality about it that can't be had with other Transformers artwork, simply because the artists of the time didn't know they were illustrating a character with the kind of history that any other such illustration will have.
As far as photography goes, I still enjoy the "super-whites" of toy product shots. Our photo staff here at TFW2005.com continue the tradition of product photography that I still thoroughly enjoy./shameless promotion
I'm an oldschool fan of the box-art... it's the first impression that Transformers made on me, so it will always have a special place in my heart. It must be said that the box-art has some highs and some really atrocious lows. Most of the original Japanese stuff is good, especially for the later G1 years.
William Johnson's very brief stint on the Marvel series ("Warrior School") also was very influential for me, and still ranks as some of the best TF comic art ever when I look at it. Certainly among the best Marvel ever had for the Transformers run.
I'm amazed more people haven't mentioned EJ Su... his work on the early IDW stuff was fantastic, and it's interesting to see his style still evolving.
Honourable mention to Studio OX's Predaking and Metroplex interpretations.
For me, it simply doesn't get better than this:

Old-time: Anything done by Geoff Senior
Newer stuff: Anything done by E.J Su
Mine would have to be this ... IDW Cyclonus holding Scourge's dismembered head.
I love Botch's site!
That's an image etched on my brain! It certainly conveys the dissociation that you were discussing earlier, about the anonymity of the "characters" as drawn by early Diaclone artists and such. Though I'm curious who produced that classic image... it has both Diaclone and Microman characters, so it clearly was done for the Hasbro's TF line, but has that Japanese box-art style to it.
Isn't that Galvatron holding th head??
If only the cartoon looked as good as that box-art!
My source is also Botch's Transformers Box Art Archive. By far, Fort Max has the best art.
Is it? Well on the picture it is titled as Cyclonus, it was part of a picture pack a fellow co-worker loaded into my laptop's screensaver.
'85, you're next!

Also would like to add that I always enjoyed the multiples of the same characters
Also, I always wanted Road Rage
The 1986 Transformer movie poster that shows Rodimus unlocking the Matrix, The New Autobot with Daniel and Unicron's planet mode and head.
It's like one of my two favourite T-Shirts.
