Just as the title says the purpose here is to share what you think were the best toys of 2011. This was certainly a great year to be a collector, and many different lines put out some great stuff. It was difficult to narrow it down but here is my top ten:

    10. Marvel Select Juggernaut
Great sculpted detail and paint, fits in with Marvel Legends just fine,
doesn't look like a gorilla like the previous toy biz version.

    9. Star War Vintage Collection Arc Trooper Commander, AKA-Fordo
Definitely a fan favorite, Fordo features interchangeable heads, a
nice blaster, and a great face sculpt, and he's f---ing fordo after all.

    8. Masters of the Universe Classics Panthor
Ever since Battle Cat got released in this line fans were wondering
when we would get Skeletors favorite feline. He features a
non-flocked purple paint scheme, a remolded head, a unique
saddle and a cool looking war helmet. A great addition to the line.

    7. Transformers Generations Warpath
A great update to the G1 toy, fun transformation, one of the best
deluxe figures that Hasbro produced for the generations line.

    6. Dc Universe Classics Owlman
Not just one of the best toys of 2011, but I would put him in my top
5 for Dc figures produced by mattel thus far. Awesome sculpt and
paint, nearly a perfect rendition of the character.

    5. Dc Universe Classics Collect-n-Connect Bane
I was not collecting Dc figures when Bane first appeared in the Dc
Superheroes line, so when I heard that he was to be the Wave 16
CnC figure I was super excited. I would say that this version is a
vast improvement over the Dc superheroes version. Finally have a
    villain to break the bat.

    4. Marvel Universe Cable
Great paint apps, awesome head sculpt, nice accessories,
ankle rockers and Baby Hope. What more could you ask for?

    3. SDCC Bandai Classics Thundercat Lion-O
Fans who grew up in the 80's have been waiting a long time for
a company to finally make an updated version of Lion-O. Bandai did
a pretty good job. I prefer the SDCC version because of the metallic
accents on Lion-O, a chrome sword of Omens that isn't floppy, and
a nice stand to put your sword of omens on display. The paint wash
is a bit overdone, but that's my only gripe. He has a great range of
articulation and can strike most of his iconic poses from the cartoon.

    2. Transformers Masterpiece 10-Optimus Prime
Prime was redone in masterpiece form for 2011 to make him more
in scale with the rest of the figures such as Grimlock and Rodimus.
Takara did a great job with this figure and if you missed out on the
first version then this guy is a great choice.

    1. Marvel Universe SDCC Sentinel
My favorite toy of 2011 by far. This guy just rocks. The SDCC
version sports the classic purple color scheme which differs from
the retail silver and blue version. Now my x-men team has some
baddies to beat up on. The sentinel has a voice built in that sounds
just like the 90's cartoon, he has a removable head to Wolverines
delight, and is about 16 inches tall.

Well that's it for me. I'm eager to see other peoples lists as they are sure to be interesting. Goodbye to 2011, it's been great!

I would say if there was one toy I could take away from 2011, it would be MP Rodimus, Takara version. Yeah he had his flaws but its the best Rodimus by far. Second would be MP-10, who I think is actually a better figure, but I didn't feel we needed another MP Optimus so I wasn't as eager to get him.

I was also impressed with the 8" Lion-O. Bandai did a great job making and releasing so many various Thundercat molds all at once. Lion-O was the cream of the crop IMO.

This was a light year for new toys for me.

    1.Hasbro Masterpiece Rodimus Prime

Though I did get a 1/48 Macross VF-1 Valkyrie, which was probably the best toy I bought this year even though it's a few years old.

I can't decide because my criteria would be based not just on "action features", "sculpt" and "articulation" but also "value for money" and "main stream appeal" will be an important consideration for me too. Thus far, here are my choices in no particular order:

    1. Hot Toys Superman - the sculpt is amazing and extras are pretty good. Definitely on the fore front of my choices.

    2. MP-10 Optimus - he would have won but his price point is a tad to high IMO.

    3. MP-9 Rodimus - I don't even know if I should consider him because technically he is a reissue.

    4. SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Ryuki - great sculpt, articulation and I paid a decent price for him but is he main stream enough for me? He appeals to fans of the Kamen Rider franchise.

    5. SDCC Lion-O. I agree, he is a good toy for sculpt and extras but his price like Optimus is a knock against him. If the regular version didn't suffer from the floppy sword issue, he would have won hands down.

    6. MOTU Panthor - nice sculpt and articulation but other than that...not much appeal unless one is a MOTU fan.

    7. MU Sentinel - same as Panthor

    8. DCUC Bane - was he released this year? I could have sworn he was released last year? We get a decent Bane but then again, he is pretty er, plain figure.

    9. SDX Gundam Gun Rex - great toy with a great sculpt and alot of cool extras but he lacks main stream appeal and his price point are his disadvantages.

    10. Bandai SOC Daltanious - same as SDX Gun Rex.

    11. Bandai MonsterArts Gojira - Bandai made a beautiful Gojira toy with amazing sculpting, and articulation and some nifty extras but the scale (barely touching 6 inches) and the price point knocked it down a few notches for me. If it was 6.5 inches, bulkier and maybe a USD$45-50 price point, old Goji would have won it for me.

I can't believe this toy slipped off my mind...but I guess this showed how disappointed I am with the scale.

    no order for me either

-this year's main SIC releases (this line has the best value for your money when it comes to kamen Rider imo)
-Kiwami Tamashii Agito and Machine Tornador
    -Transformers Prime Starscream
    -Halo Megabloks blind packs
-Revoltech Jehuty (only like because its Jehuty, not a fan of revoltechs, really wish it were a Robot Damashii)
    -Robot Damashii Stike or Age
-SE Play Arts line (It has a lot of problems, but I was really impressed with Adom Jenson)
-HG Gundam Age (one of my favorite HG kits ever, articulation and build were very impressive)
    -Figuarts Gokai Red
-Generations Warpath, Wheeljack, or Laser Prime

I'm sure there are plenty of figures that I've forgotten about that possibly deserve mention, but these are my favorites that I can think of off the top of my head. Really high priced stuff like SOCs, Hot Toys and MP's would probably have been on the list if I owned them, but they're a bit high priced for me.

    Somewhere Between Life and Death
    1. Sideshow 12" Commander Cody :My favorite clone from the movies, second overall. The amount of accessories, detail, and everything else I can't think of.
    2. SH Figuarts Shinken Red :The sculpt and articulation are astounding. Plus he comes with a fair amount of accessories.
    3. Star Wars Vintage Collection Captain Fordo : Um, it's FUCKING FORDO DAMMIT! And he's two figures in one. And I've bought six of him. Kinda addicting.
    4. Jetwing Optimus Prime : Takes the already astounding ROTF Leader mold, and adds a huge jetpack with chain guns. Badass.
    5. Star Wars Clone Wars Armored Savage : Great sculpt, and overall great paint. Second best figure of the line.
    6. DOTM Leader Ironhide : Articulation and paint problems aside, it's a Leader version of my favorite Movie franchise character. That's good enough for thr Top 10 in my book.
    7. Star Wars Vintage Collection Bespin Han Solo : I've been waiting for a good figure of this appearance for years, and it didn't disappoint.
    8. Star Wars TRU Exclusive Delta Squad Multi-Pack: Greatly improved versions of the characters from the best SW video game.
    9. Marvel Legends 6" Avengers Nick Fury: A 6", highly articulated SLJ Nick Fury? Um, win.
    10. Lego Hero Factory Witch Doctor :The first HF set that caused me too feel like it was related to Bionicle in some way. Matter of fact, it's the best Lego set I purchased in two years.

Okay, I ordered Sideshow Gree on Christmas. It'll be here next week. It will probably deserve the second spot. So put him there and drop the rest down. But these are the toys I have in hand.

    1. S.H.Figuarts GokaiGreen - I've had it for a while and I'm still having a blast posing this guy. HUGE improvement from the Shinkenger SHFs, especially in the shoulders. And it gets better when you have the other colors.
    2. Transformers Prime Deluxe Starscream - Standout Transformer this year, not a huge accomplishment I suppose being preceded by nothing but Dark of the Moon toys which I wasn't really too enthused about. However, it is still a fantastic figure in its own right.
    3. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider #1 - A lot like the Gokaiger SHFs, it really perfected the non-armored suit Figuart.
    4. Transformers DotM Ultimate Optimus Prime - Maybe I like it more than I should being a huge fan of Power Rangers/Sentai robots, but I just love how massive and insane this guy is.
    5. Kamen Rider OOO DX Medagaburyu - Ridiculous Dino Axezooka. Need I say more?
    6. Thundercats 2011 6" Lion-O - While I'm not the biggest fan of the show, I added this simply because it is a VAST improvement over previous Bandai of America toys, and I hope they continue.
    7. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger DX Mobirates - It's another phone morpher, but it's piratey and it taught me the names of the Super Sentai shows in order by yelling them at me.
    8. Kamen Rider Fourze DX Fourze Driver - A lot like the Medagaburyu, it's so ridiculous it's awesome. I bought it coming off of a huge Tron and Portal kick, so that might have persuaded me to like it more than I should.
    9. Lego Hero Factory Toxic Reapa - Honestly, I just love the design so much I had to put it on here.
    10. Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Prime - Huge surprise for me. I picked him up out of curiosity and I've yet to put it down.
