I've been looking at my collection the last few weeks trying to figure out what seems to be missing.

I've finally figured it out, Megatron is missing.

My current, on display, collection is made up of Classics, and I was wondering which Megatron figure would go best.

I've been looking at the Classics Megs, and I've decided - I don't like him. Not just the color scheme, but the mold as well...so, this would also rule out the Henkei version as well...

That being said, with Classics and Henkei Megs out of the picture...

Which Megatron would go best with the Classics line-up?
Please leave your feedback and let me know your opinion.

    Thanks,
    -Daniel

MP Megatron seems a bit out of scale, but he's pretty much the best representation of the character I can find. Henkei Megatron is what most people go for, but you don't like the mold sooo... The G1 repaint of the two-pack Megatron might do alright, but I've never really cared for that mold. Perhaps the silver repaint of Megatron from Cybertron?

Well to be honest, i think that Alternity megs would be good, considering its a 370Z (fairlady) car , not a floating gun of doom. The aesthetic can fit in with the classics, but I don't have it yet and my cameras broke so i can't provide pictures.

Id highly suggest you think about getting Henkei Megatron to fit in with your Classics, but maybe an Energon Megatron? I don't know.

I'd say maybe the silver/black/red redeco of tank Megatron, released as a Universe Special Edition. Or possibly wait for War for Cybertron Megatron?

Can't believe you don't like Henkei Megatron...

Does it have to be Megatron or is Galvatron okay? I'd suggest Superlink (Jap Energon) Galvatron G. The one that isn't the Leader class figure.

That figure makes for a good "Classics" Galvatron.

I like the color scheme, I just don't like the NERF Gun mold...

    Although,
I kinda like the mold of War for Cybertron Megs...has there been mention of a release date?

I know said you didn't like the looks of it, but I still recommend Henkei Megs. Nothing else really fits in with a Classics collection. And the mold really isn't that bad.

I echo the idea of using Energon Megatron/Galvatron for your display. Other good Megatrons include Deluxe Classics Megatron (an excellent homage to the fierce G2 Megatron), or maybe even Animated leader Megatron (though his style would make him look out of place with your classics, he is the closest you can get to G1 that isn't classics or masterpiece).

Here's the discussion thread about it. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/300504-igear-toyss-minisize-megatron.html. Rumor is some time in 2011-2012 so it's a ways off.

The only real issues with Classics Megatron are his head, the wings and his chest. So personally I'm gonna try to kitbash/repaint a more accurate bot mode for myself.

Quite a few radicons have done so and have really impressive results so you might want to check those out and maybe see if you can set up a commission

I'd love to own that figure, regardless. But man, is he ever expensive.

I don't care for the Nerf Gun mold either, so I'm using the deluxe classics Megatron for my display.

Animated is good, and should be quite affordable.

    (seen here with Revoltech)

Beyond that, Masterpiece, Classics, and Henkei, there's not many other options. Maybe Titaniums, but no one seems to like those.

Same here, really. There is the Toys R Us version, with a Megatron color scheme. That goes for a bit cheaper, though isn't quite as G1.

If all that you don't like is the Nerf gun alt mode, ask yourself if that's that big an issue. I couldn't care less either way, Nerf Maverick or not, the figure looks fantastic in bot mode. And that's what I care about.

I dremelled the wings off of my Classics Megs. I think his robot mode looks good this way, and he can still transform, since the gun was just a shell anyway. I also happen to like the alt mode. But if you don't like the mold even without the wings, then I don't know what to tell ya.
