Which third party (Masterpiece scale) figures do you like best? Whether its a superior version of an official figure, more economical version of an official figure, or just plain fills a gap that the official line hasn't yet...

IMO Fanstoys are the main company making Masterpiece quality third party toys. Stomp (Sludge) is an amazing toy, one of the only ones in my collection is consider near-perfect in design and execution.

Couldnt have said it better myself haha. Can I ask an Admin to move it or should I just request it deleted and remake in the appropriate section?

Based on the ones I've had a chance to handle, I'd say Sphinx and Willis. They're both incredibly clean, solid, and well-engineered, with great sculpting and paint. Can't see Takara doing much better.

My choices also...Sphinx weights as much as two official MP (bluestreak and tracks).

    Well. Let's see.

There is figures that 3P make that directly aim at MP collectors. And then there are figures 3P make that people shoehorn/display with their MP's because they feel like it.

To me, "MP" is not only the absolute correct size according to the scale chart (or in the case of Official, they can get away with making things a bit smaller or taller depending - because their trampstamp says "Masterpiece" on the box - a la Ultra Magnus), but that fantastic fit and finish quality. Paint, how clean it is, and transformation.

With that bunch of crap out of the way (sorry you can tl;dr to this part lol), I'd say FansToys is pretty much top dog at everything they make. Minus a few nitpicks here and there.

BadCube and MMC are also very good.

Can't go wrong with those guys.

For me, it's the ft dibots X, then ft Willis, then ft grenadier. That is to answer your direct question.

I have a feeling you won't go wrong with the badcube stuff other the tank being too complicated to transform. They are probably my second favorite for mp, and you can bet they got the quality

Then, MT if you like the looks. They are not as toon / toy centric as ft and bc, have a bit of that anime look, which can be great too. Quality is usually fantastic.

These are my top 3 companies I now first consider.

After that, there is mmc and dx9/UT that I would trust as well.

man... that is a tough question. So much to choose from out there...

    MMC Sphinx jumps to mind.
    and MakeToys Gundog

    Perhaps GigaPower Guttur...

These are all high quality and beautiful representations of these characters.

I am excited to combine TW Devastator soon. That should be good as well.

Best quality: WeiJang KOs (MPP10 and MP01)

Best bang for the buck: Cloud 9 Quakeblast

    My favorite: Gigapower Guttur.

But everything MMC, Badcube, Maketoys, DX9, Fanstoys and many others put out is fantastic. Also KFC is getting better... And I'm forgetting a lot... Unique Toys, Fans Project...

I am a FansToys fan but have found myself liking DX9's efforts a bit more.

Anyway in general I've found both companies to be producing good products in the MP scale.

Unique Toys make good products but generally they seem either too small or too big for what they're trying to achieve.

For example, I found their Octane to be far too small and their Blurr to be too big.

Despite my scale issues, they're still good products.

Of the figures I’ve got where I can’t imagine there’s much room for improvement, only the following spring to mind:
    X-Transbots Arkose
    Fanstoys Insecticons
    BadCube Wardog
    Generation Toy Scraper
    TFC Big Bite

That’s not to say that any of my other figures are bad… just that they’re not as spot on in some way.

Guys no need to over analyse it..The topic is simple, best 3rd party mp scale figures
For me there are too many that i love but one just really stands out and feels like is one level above everything else.Thats FT-Stomp.I never handle anything like that before official or 3rd party..I think its the only Perfect figure, there are others that are close but this one i really cant find any flaws
    -Perfect likeness
    -Top notch quality materials
-Super heavy with all the diecast
-All paint apps/chrome are applied perfectly
    -Fun transformation!
-Perfect tolerances(nothing is too tight or too loose)
He is just fun to handle!
