I opened a HA jazz last night and I was blown away on how good of a toy it was. It got me to thinking, what would you consider the best TF ever made? Any thoughts?

HA Jazz and Barricade are two recent ones that just floored me with how nice they were. At the deluxe price point, the United Jazz, Tracks and Scourge are really tops as well.

It's damn hard to pick just one!

There are only two who have any right to the title "Best." Classics Mirage and Universe 2.0 Hound. Everything else, while probably cool, is imperfect in some way or another.

Warpath can have second place. His arms are annoying at times and his chest comes unpegged too easily. A lack of a nice foot joint hurts him, too.

Wreck-Gar is OK. A good bike-former, but he has plenty of flaws.

    Ever? G1 Soundwave.

I mean, c'mon - GREAT articulation and cartoon likeness for its day, awesome play value, great gimmick. Even the character was cool.

I don't like how his missile sticks out so much behind his back, either.

Agreed. I don't have any of the newer incarnations (Jetwing, for example), but I imagine those would be even better simply because they have more accessories and play value...

But if you have to customize a Transformer, it shouldn't be considered "best ever".

Not true. I have lots of TFs with mods that I consider better than TFs that I didn't see a need to mod.

G1 Jetfire was better. Better arms, better legs. The robot mode was awesome, the GERWALK is cool, and the jet is badass.

Mp01, mp10, and Hasbro masterpiece hot rod. As a kid I always wanted a perfect version of these toys. Seemed like an impossible dream back then. They exceeded my imagination in reality. The mere fact that a dream is fullfilled is amazing.

I don't think that should be used when determining the best ever of a product. As technology and methods improve, naturally toys will improve. IMO a toy should be held up against all other toys regardless of when they were made.

Oh no I wasn't commenting on him being best ever, just saying the rocket bugged me too, so it got chopped.

Hmm. That's tough. I'd have to say ROTF Prime or G1 Prime.

ROTF Prime - Unbelievable toy. I would put Buster Prime here, if I had one. I think that it is the superior version even when taking into account Striker and Jetwing.

G1 Prime - I mean, there is just so much value in this toy. Even if you remove all the history and nostalgia, there is so much to do with this one toy. When you add in the fact that this is probably the toy that most of us coveted in our childhood, I have to give the nod here.

MP-10's not a bad candidate, except his shoulders, while they work well, could have been done better.

Galaxy Force Optimus Prime. I like this version rather than the blue one. I think the black pops more. Awesome accessories. Has a few toys that can combine with him. Several modes. Slick looking robot mode. There isn't one thing I don't like about him.
