im looking for a starscream for my shelf. whats the best 1 to get? i was thinking cybertron Starscream as the Classics/Generations/Universe Starscream doesnt do it for me. i have acidstorm, and wasnt satisfied with the mold. i DO have armada SS however, too big and blocky.

    suggestions? pics?

    (excluding Masterpiece)

Not really a pic, but I think I have most of the SS molds included in this video. My personal favorite is the MP, but you said that's out of the question. I would definitely go for the G1 mold myself, with all the reissues out there they can be had at a pretty descent price.

i dont think the energon mold is that bad, but cybertron is nice but you would want the galaxy force version as it is smaller and not the large cybertron version.

otherwise Transformers Prime SS looks to be pretty sweet when it comes out.

    the titanium mold IS nice.

the energon mold comes in 3 versions? i know of 2, the original and the G1 color scheme. whats the third?

i didnt know the galaxy force version was smaller than its cybertron counterpart. (unless your comparing the regular with the supreme class?)

the mold that the most recient seekers are all based off of. its not bad, dont get me wrong, but just not powerful enough for me. though if i worked on getting them all ... hmm ...

    any other suggestions?
i do kinda want 1 with 5mm hands so i could have it hold the Star Saber Minicon team, but isnt a prerequisite.

The Japanese version is a different color. I'm trying to upload a pic but it's being stupid.

Wow. Whereas I think the Classics mold is THE definitive mold for any & all Seekers to date. Go figure :)

MP Starscream looks great in jet mode, but I think the bot mode design looks like complete ass. Everyone complains about the legs, but my big problem with it is the crazy long torso and shoulders that hang so low.

The A/E/C, Movie, Prime & Animated molds are all such a departure from the G1 look that I don't think they'd fill the void properly. All that leaves imo is the War Within 6" Titanium since it's still very obviously Screamer in bot mode, and has a pretty cool Cybertronian alt mode. Plus it's actually in scale to the other Classics.

im actually liking the idea of using the Energon G1 coloring screamer.

and oddily i'd like to have SG Screamer standing with Classics Jetfire. as a pre war pic ...

oh no, i do agree its prolly the best mold for the G1 seekers ive seen yet, its just not solid. too me it seemed flimsey. im more of an autobot guy, but my favorite color is green which is why i got Acidstorm, and while the mold was cool, i dunno. just seemed eh ... loose like i said not solid looking enough. least not for the "pride of the cybertron air academy" and "future leader of the decepticons."

Okay, so it's not like a repaint, but the U.S. is on the left and the Japanese is in the middle. A lot of the highlights are different. But I guess it's no less drastic than the usual Henkei/Universe.

Thanks! I've spent the better part of the last 3 years focusing on my Seeker collection. The video's a bit outdated already, but I'm waiting for the last 3 iGear Seekers to come out before I reshoot it.

I'm really digging that takare Energon SS, I didn't realize that they were THAT different. I'm gonna have to add that to my hit list.

The best Starscream figure is the HftD Leader.

If you want to go another route, most of my top choices use the Classics mold you aren't a fan of.

So after throwing them out, I'd go with the Cybertron Voyager mold. My favorite one is the Shattered Glass one, but that's kind of pricey...the maroon TRU one is pretty cool as well.

Maybe the Acid Storm you picked up was a bum figure. I've got 18 Classics Seeker mold figures on display and none of them have loose limbs (save Henkei Thundercracker, which I fixed).

I'd say if you flat out don't like the mold, then maybe Energon Energon Starscream is more for you- though the limbs are skinnier, and I think the entire figure is a tad smaller than the Classics.

Henkei Starscream is still my favorite.
The upcoming TFP Starscream figures are really nice looking too, and he's also by far my favorite take on the character.
