The first one. Everything looks seamless everywhere. The second and third movies had Devastator and Driller, but the CGI actually looked fake sometimes.

I hate to admit it, but when Shockwave is first rising out of the Driller (saying "Optimus!") it just didn't looks as good as the rest of the CGI in the movie, IMO. Couldn't tell you why, though.

The third one had the best. Watch the first and third back to back and you can tell

DOTM was the only one where I didn't stop to think about how good the effects looked, therefore they were the best.
That might sound like a contradiction, but it just means they were so good, I was able to forget I was watching special effects.

This. The effects were great due to the skill gained from the previous two movies.

The third movie definitely had the best special effects.

The third one, but that’s to be expected. Obviously the first one had the biggest wow! factor, but that was only because it was the first. Nothing like that had ever been attempted in live-action before. DOTM, though, really does look amazing in almost every sense.

People’s nostalgia and memories can fool them. It’s like when people say Jurassic Park still has, to this day, the best CGI in a live-action film. That’s just not true.

In mild contradiction o my previous statement, I, too, would have to say DOTM.

I have to go with DotM, but I think they're all astounding. But DotM attempted the most and accomplished the most.

While all three films had fantastic special effects I really have to give the best award to Dark of the Moon. Just seems like the effects were a bit more polished than the first two films and the mix of CGI and live actions effects seemed to mix even better than the first two.

Unless the winter can bring some mind blowing special effects for the holiday releases Dark of the Moon should have the special effects Oscar in the bag.

DOTM. It's clear to me. I don't get how people are saying the first one. They were awesome no doubt, but a few more years against DOTM and it doesn't hold up.

Unfortunately, I think something else will trump it. I don't what exactly, but that's just my feeling.

Technically, the effects in DOTM were the best, but I think I most liked how the effects were USED in the first film.

Wait the Transformers were special effects in all of the movies? I thought they were just paid actors. (DotM)

People should go back and watch Transformers as when I watched it a few months ago I thought "holy moly!" It just looked so fake compared to ROTF and DOTM. The zoom-in of Optimus on Hoover Dam comes to mind. It was impressive at the time but the later 2 movies rip its face off.
