Let's hope Sonic 4 lives up to the winner and surpasses it.

nobody voted for Shadow in the last thread. as cool as we all thought the premise would be, you gotta admit it had some poor mechanics. and by some i mean a lot.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Take the first game, which was wonderful, add spin dash, a new character, and more levels than the first game.

Although, Sonic Rush is VERY close behind. Along with SA2.

Sonic 2 all the way for me, and I still don't think sonic 3 and knuckles should count, being 2 games. To make it fair, each vote for that should be only worth a half of a vote.

Sonic Adventure 2. It's keen, I guess. Never played Sonic Rush or Unleashed, don't recall Sonic 3 and Knuckles all that well, and it's better than Sonic 2

In the previous poll, they were listed separately and as a single unit. There are two reasons for this: 1. When locked on, you get a game that's greater than the sum of its parts while still excluding parts of each game, and 2. Sega originally intended it to be one large game but split it apart for time reasons

haha indeed that is certainly true. apologies, i had actually meant to say *shooting mechanics*

Well, when you have the potential to run faster than the bullets you shoot, there can be some problems.

Well actually Sonic 3 and Knuckles was intentended to be the same game, this has been learned by the Sonic Fan community a while back, the games were inteaded as one but were split into two halves so Sega would be able to get a Sonic game out by Christmas, then released the other half about 6 months later, the lock on cart allowed for the full game to be played and some added playablity with Sonic 2. Personally I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles was the best one.

Fun tid bit of info, Sonic 3 was built off of Sonic 2 evidence
can be found from the menu system from the Sonic 2 option screen and multilayer still included in the game code. Also the stand alone sonic 3 and Knuckles uses some icons from the Sonic 2 level select and was the same design of it.

I say, if you have to pay for two games, then its two games. Sonic 2 gave you something amazing on its own, and Sonic 3 and Kunckles is only better combined, but why shouldn't it be when you paid for two games? The best way to say it is this- two games of Sonic 2's caliber would be far better then Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, especially since Sonic 2 holds its own against those two games combined.

Sonic 3. But mostly I play Sonic 1, because Green Hill Zone is sooo nice :)

Wait, fuck... SonicCD is missing the poll! But only SonicCD with original music (EUR + JAP), not that shitty music like in America and the PC version.

People voting for Sonic 3 and Knuckles are everything wrong with the Sonic fandom.
