Michael Bay Finally Made An Art Movie - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - io9

    An excerpt:
NOTE: I did not outright hate ROTF. It was a dissapointment to be sure, but I can't say it was a total waste. However, this review is a work of genius. Not since Mystery Science Theater's riffing of Godzilla vs Megalon have I seen a comment on a film as brilliant and hilarious as this.

Yes, very funny..but wasn't this posted already? Like..when the movie hit the theatres? :p

Anyway, still a fun read for those who have missed it back then, I suppose.

Never heard of this site or reviews.

Oh yeah, this was like the first review or something, no? Or one of the first. Maybe about the only one to be positive about the film.

I think the review would be more appropriate if it was about Avatar (changing minor details of course).

Wow, I didn't expect it to be, but you're actually right.

I once read that bad movies always get the best reviews(and are the most fun to review).

I've talked with a lot of people who've seen ROTF, and while none of them really thought it was a good movie, they all seemed to have a sense that on some level it was something of a 'unique' achievement. Maybe it's a colossal monument to stupidity, maybe it's a monster of pure entertainment, but there's always a sort of derogatory awe at what was put on screen. People mock and deride it, and yet at the same time there's something about it that never fails to impress.

    This captures that perfectly.

SO that is the mindset you must have to appriciate that abomination of a movie. I must rewatch it with this review in mind.

Ha ha, well that review actually explains things better than any other review I've heard of the movie.

So the mindset would be that of a mentally ******ed chimp with ADHD, then? Because every time I even see a clip from the movie, I feel like I get dumber.

After reading this review, I find myself really wanting to see what a TF film made by Terry Gilliam might be like.
