    Hi

Long time lurker (always here for my fix of TF news!), first time poster :)

Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I'm currently in the US on a trip from the UK.
Currently staying in Conneticut but I'm going to get some time in New York and I was wondering if anyone could make some suggestions as to good places to buy TF's, mainly the japanese imports such as Masterpieces (especially the new Rodimus Prime if it's actually been released yet), binaltech/alternity, encore etc..

    Thanks in advance

Heh, back when I was in college, we used to bus up to NYC to check out art museums for the day once a semester. I'd always bug out on the group to hit up Image Anime. Very cool place.

Granted, this was circa 2001 and the store was the size of a walk-in closet crammed full of awesome toys. Dunno if they found a larger place since then.

OK, here is a quick list. You may be disappointed on what you find or don't find. I actually have been to all of em in the last month.

Best Place: Image Anime. Has the most stuff. Only new for the most part. Forget about finding older stuff. Also, forget about getting good prices. $400 for a MP-04.

Toy Tokyo: Good mix between old stuff and new stuff. Not many MPs at this moment. I think they have an ultra magnus, but thats about it. They have a Takara Unicron for $185. Not horrible prices but not the best either. They had a sweet G1 MINT soundwave when I was last there. So you will find some nicer older stuff

Elizabeth Center Mall in Chinatown, basement floor. You need to get there after 2P. They open late pretty much all the time. No time posted. He should have Masterpiece figures there. Also have a couple of older items as well. There is also another store on that block that has some stuff too. You may be surprised by the lack of KOs in Chinatown now a days. I was pretty let down about that.

St. Marks Comics (it's near toy tokyo). You may luck out there and find something. They had a good set of G1 when I was there. Some guy sold a lot. It was loose. So maybe they still have it.

The only thing is, regardless of store, you will get better prices here or at EBay, BBTS or TFSource.

Hey! i've noticed in a lot of the galleries that there are translucent / plastic stands for various flying TFs. Are they something that you can buy at the stores or have to order them online? can one give me directions on how to get a hold of some in Newyork?

    Ebay:
Should be the same as Alucard77 posted above you

Not sure of any in particular in NYC, but I get my stands from here: Acrylic Stands Pedestal Risers Clear Black

In NYC, they'd just be overpriced
