Hello guys, my uber crappy ENVY 3 just went out and I am thinking of getting another phone, but I really want something that will last. This phone lasted maybe eight months, and it was the second one I have owned in two years. I still have a contract with Verizon for the next year and a half, plus I like Verizons service better, so I am not switching carriers. All opinions are appreciated.

I'd go with a Droid of some sort. Wave of the future, my friend.

My original droid is the best phone I've ever had.
It's decent stock, but it's easy to root, and when you do you have an uber-cheap 1 ghz phone!

Eventually I'll ditch my old Motorola Razor and get the iPhone when it's on Verizon.

My storm may not make it till my renewal time.. it may end up under my heel before then :mad

but when that great day comes, it will be a Droid X, whether I have to clean up some software bits or not.

It's fun that you asked this as I will have my new Droid Incredible in hand tomorrow. I think you may have missed out and possibly not have qualified anyway, but Best Buy was giving away the Incredible for free with a 2 year renewal. Pretty good deal obviously, especially since I was willing to pay the $200 retail price. What is also nice is that even including the data plan, I believe my bill should only go up $5. Anyway, I have heard nothing but good things about the Incredible (aside from a short battery life, but that is pretty standard for smart phones), you should definitely consider getting one. Why no try it at least, there is a 30-day return policy on all Verizon phones.

It's probably not what you're looking for, but I'm extremely happy with my Alias 2. It does everything I need, and want to do. Battery life is pretty good, and it's nice that I can be in the middle of Lake of the Woods and make a phone call if needed.

The Droid Incredible is awesome, got one for christmas. Only problem it has is the fast battery consumption, thinking about buying an aftermarket battery for it.

They have them on amazon with great reviews, like a battery rated at 3500 mAh but it makes it so the protective covers wont fit on it. Good thing is it does make the battery go from lasting hours to lasting days.

Anyways the phone kicks ass, especially with the cover I have on it now, looks all kinds of sick. Loving the apps you can get for it, like the bar code scanner app that lets you find if an item is cheaper in other stores or online. It even scanned the bar code for several of my TFs including Henkei Megatron and Sam's Club Universe RiD Optimus Prime and even found them online which was amazing considering how old/rare Sam's Club Yellow Prime is.

This thing has a plethora of apps that can help out in everyday life, from finding and comparing prices at nearby gas stations, to GPS navigation using google maps and even letting you find coupons that can be used at the register directly from your phone.

My Incredible lives up to its name. Longer battery life than the X, smaller so it fits in my pocket, and I didn't need HD video capture.

I guess the better first step is to ask you...Are you ok with the additional monthly fees and higher phone prices that are usually associated with Smart Phones?
