    Cold Mountain.

It's not my favorite movie, but it's the best one I've ever seen. I enjoyed the acting, the elements of magic realism (I LOVE William Faulkner's writing, and I really felt like they influenced the film a little), and just about everything else about it.

Also, I cried my eyes out at the end. Something that moves me like that is special.

Favorite moive- Transformers '86. It may be full of one liners and made to sell toys, but that didn't stop me from watching it 8 million times as a kid. Watching it to this day makes me feel like a kid again.

Here is the other 9 movies in my top 10:

    Ghostbusters (best comedy)
Lord of the Rings trilogy (I really can't say just one)
    Star Wars original trilogy
    Signs
    The Dark Knight
    Aliens
    Braveheart
    The Fly (Goldblum's)
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind

I'd have to say that Dr. Strangelove is perhaps the most brilliant film that I've ever seen.

    Others

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Best Dark Comedy).
    Caddyshack (best Comedy)
    Bladerunner (best scii-fi)
    Patton (best war)
    Dark Knight (best comic)
Diehard with a Vengence (best action)
From Russia with Love (best Bond)

    Hated that movie.
My favorite of all time is Transformers 07, because it brought me back into transformers.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Toy Story 1 and 2
    Both Transformers
    The Dark Knight
    Digimon the movie. (no really)
Shrek 1 (2 was mediocre, 3 was forced)
    Iron Man
Indiana Jones and the crystal kingdom of something or whatever. *shot*

Huh, that's my least favourite movie (for the same reason).

Some of my favourite movies (but not necessarily "the best") include:

    The Baxter
    The Ten
    Office Space
    Ong Bak
    Hellboy I + II
    Memento

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (perfect in every way)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Commando (best action movie ever, hands down)
    Death to Smoochy

Oh man, there are too many to list, but these are a few that I'd sit down and watch at any time.

Oh, and more recent favorites include the ever obvious Dark Knight and Wall-E.

Fight Club- One of the best Guy movies around.
All Pixar except A Bugs life and Nemo- Never got into Bugs Life and I have my own reasons for Nemo.
Raiders of the lost Arc- Indy at his best, the others are good, but not as good as this.
Starwars Ep 4,5,6- My favorite movies since I can remember
The Matrix- This movie made action movies what they are today.
Back to the Future 1- I will always be a sucker for this movie
Pirates of the Caribbean 1- I had zero expectations for this movie and it blew me away. nothing has entertained me at a theater the way that POTC did.
American Beauty- Just a great overall movie

I could go on as I think that there are a lot of movies that I think are great.

Agree greatly with the mentions of Fight Club, American Beauty and Requiem for a Dream. Requiem is probably the best movie at making you feel like someone took a three hour crap all over you and then repeatedly beat you on the head with a 2 x 4.
