There is just something about an evil giant floating hand coming to get you.
Trex mode and dragon mode
Cybertron's Megatron was brutal looking
The Tank, it's works for Megatron, and it's looks best faces Prime's Semi Truck Mode.
The tank though I liked his gun mode in the Combiner Wars cartoon.
Everyone forgets his G2 Gobot car mode.
Actually with the Collector's Club Pretender version, the gun would make more sense.
I actually enjoyed the various dragon Megatrons the most - western Dragons are usually rapacious beasts, prideful, greedy, and wrathful when denied what they deem theirs. It sounds just like Megatron.
Every Targetmaster, nearly every Titan Master vehicle, a slew of Minicons, and seemingly most of the Prime Masters say hello!
Well, that's pretty much my answer as well. I will also add that it allows the Seekers to still bring something different to the table, they bring speed while Megatron would bring sheer firepower.
Gonna roll with helicopter. Animated Megs' quasi-Osprey alt mode with the BFG was perfect. It was fast, mobile, powerful, and also unique. It had the firepower of the tank but more manueverability than and the mobility of any aircraft. I liked ROTF Megs' flying tank mode but it was really just a tank with wings strapped on, which says to me they wanted him to fly but they wanted to keep the tank mode. So helicopter it is for me.
DOTM Megs' Mad Max truck mode is really cool, though. Lots of character, really imposing. Too bad Megs himself was in such a weakened state that he couldn't fight in it. Would've loved to have seen him running people or Autobots over, or smash headfirst into Optimus or someone.
I would have to say the Animated helicopter form Megatron had. It was just awesome! :3 I will be honest and say I was torn between that and the tank, but the helicopter alt mode won out in the end because, let's face it, Megatron was not just imposing in that form, but he was also armed to the teeth and far more maneuverable than any tank or even aircraft. And I want that figure too!
I'm going with Tank. It's an altmode that means business. No finesse, all success.
For me Megatron will always be a gun, I grew with him that way and that mode will always have a place in my heart. If the gun mode can't be used for the reasons we all know too well, the next best thing is a tank, since it makes the better use of Megatron 's fusion cannon and reminds me of Galvatron's alternate mode. Plus, since Megatron's sidekicks tend to have a flying alternate mode, there is more variety if he gets a land one.
Although I prefer his G1 gun mode, I did like the tank from ROTF after being brought back to life (good use of tearing apart and reusing that other 'Con), and the truck he turned into in DOTM.
Comparing a fullsized Robot who has an actual transformation with figures smaller than my pinky finger that bend
But who am I to stop you from comparing oranges to potatoes and contribute to the laziness and slugginess this toy line is heading for years.
