I think Armada/Micron Dentesu is the best one so far (I grew up on it) and Victory (Only seen clips but like it from what I see). What do you guys think is the best?

I've only seen the JP G1 trilogy all the way through, but of those Masterforce was by far my favorite.

I'll echo your sentiment about Micron Legend. I just watched it not too long ago (after deciding NOT to watch Armada because the voice acting drove me nuts). While I'm not sure if it's the best Transformers series out there, it ranks pretty high with me.

For me, I'd probably go with Masterforce too.

I can only speak for the English dubs, but I'd say the 2001 Robots in Disguise show.

Masterforce, no question. It's not even close.

Then maybe Victory and the Unicron Trilogy tied for distant second.

Then Car Robots, a pretty good distance behind them.

    Then Headmasters.

    Then Zone. YUCK.

Then the Japanese Beast shows, way way way down at the bottom. Making a mockery of our beloved Beast Wars. Mother effers.

i could have sworn Car Robots/RID 2001 was intentionally made to look like a spiritual successor to the cancelled Brave franchise down to the basic formula, Fire Convoy/Optimus' combining with his trailer in different configurations is reminiscent of each titular Brave with their support vehicles, as to date Fire Convoy is the most creatively designed Optimus,

plus the toy is fun to play with thanks to the screen accurate gimmicks!, no current Optimus toy up to date matches the level of Fire Convoy's presence, we really needed an MP version of him.

I enjoyed RiD01, but not as much as Masterforce. I dig a lot of RiD's toys and agree on most points about Fire Convoy. I didn't care much for the fully combined Super mode, but I do like all the possible configurations with the cab and trailer parts. Currently on display as my fanmode Omega Prime/GFC. Unfortunately I cant find the ladder, which I liked to display as a tower shield/cannon attachment.

Well sense we're including English versions even though they aren't even really the same story, RID1. I hate Armada more than the Michael Bay movies. Energon and Cybertron depending on how you view them are either much worse as sequels or not as bad if you totally ignore any connection they have to Armada or each other.

As for Japanese exclusives, not sure really because I've never actually seen any of them. Best guess, if they're anywhere near as good as the first Beast Wars in the U.S. probably Beast Wars II... mostly because while I like both Lio and Big Convoys designs, I'm not a big fan of Magmatron. I might like him more if I actually saw the show but I just don't really get his split beast modes work and I think the robot mode looks stupid. Galvatron looks awesome though so I'm just imagining he's a better Predacon leader.

They're not anywhere near as good. They almost treat it like a joke.

Well, yeah, because he's NOT Optimus. Wasn't meant to be Optimus. So since he wasn't Optimus/Convoy, they could get more creative with the design.

RID'01 / Car Robots, was pretty fun for what it was. I would love them to bring some of those characters back.

The Unicron Trilogy was boring as hell. I can't ever make it through an episode without falling asleep. Though it did have a few cool ideas.

I haven't seen any of the Japanese G1 series. And the cringe level was too damn high for the bits and pieces I've seen of Beast Wars II and Neo.

Uhhhhhhh, Cybertron? They're all fairly bad, so it's like pulling from the best of the worst.

I wouldn't go that far. The Japanese dub of BW was certainly kiddified to the point of ludicrousness, but BWII had some very adult themes with Unicron's evil nature and what humanity had to do because of it.
