    Hi everyone,

I've loved the car design from the movie Death Race for some time (a modded Ford Mustang) and always wanted to do a TF custom of it.

Can anyone suggest a Human-Alliance-scale car (that isn't too spindley / with more G1/Classics looking limbs) that would make a good fit for this custom?

    Thanks!

Both of those are good suggestions - and cool transformers. :)

I remember owning an Alternators Shockwave, and while it looked cool, something about the weight of it's diecast parts combined with the plastic connectors... it kept popping apart, falling down, and in general being a nussiance. :(  I really wanted to like it, but I'm worried about blowing $70 on a base figure I don't want to use. ;)

I actually really like the bot transformation on some of the new DOTM cars, and I noticed the Human Alliance Bumblee isn't too stringy, but still has a boxy looking car mode that could be modded with a bunch of armor plating (i.e: Tamiya PLA board)

I still really like the look of Alternator Grimlock though. I never knew such a figure existed before. :)

Yeah, I was going to say Barricade as well.

Lots of pros by choosing this - base car design is the same and has the benefit of having base plastic color as black.

But if you want to do it on the cheap, I suppose a black Bee grabbed Marshall's could work.

    Alt or Binaltech?

    Alts don't have Diecast.

Which would indicate your prference for Alt Grimlock may not be as problematic as you might have thought.
