Drop your system loyalties and name your favorite video game of all time (PCs included).

Mine is a tie between Zelda 1 and Gunstar Heroes.

Super Metroid. it's been ripped off a lot (castlevania), but never surpassed.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. And Zelda 1.

I totally disagree with Valkysas. Super Metroid has been ripped off a lot... but there were definitely some surpassers.

The original Super Mario Brothers. It was something magical to me back then, and for some reason I still get that feeling when I play it.

    Rhythm Tengoku.

Japanese GBA game by the same team who did Wario Ware. It's all music-based minigames, and it's the best game none of you will ever play.

I still firmly believe that there is a way out of the secret water level, and one day, I will find it.

Street Fighter II in all its minimalistic revisions.

No other game kept me out until 4:00 in the morning on a repeat basis.
    Farewell arcades. :rip

Quake II (PC)- the multiplayer was better, and years ahead of, Halo. Not only that, single player was fun, unlike Halo.

Street Fighter II, Half Life and Castlevania SOTN get honorable mentions.

After thinking about it, I'd have to say the first XCOM.

Did you know there's a GBA title that is almost a direct copy of it, except all the base building and research has been taken out? It's pretty decent, but nowhere near as good as the original.

Nostalgia, for me, says the original Mortal Kombat.

In reality, the best game ever is Final Fantasy VII.

Chrono Trigger. Aside from quality of story, character, and artistry, the dynamics of the game are still unmatched, using time travel in all manner of ways. And then there's 13 different endings to see and New Game + to make sure you always have something more to do. I've got a ton of games for PS2 and DS that are deep, impressive, but I still get the urge to play Chrono Trigger again.

The neverhood chronicals ;)  Doug Tennapel created a masterpiece for the PC.
But I'd say it's a tie between that, LoZ Windwaker, Super Metroid and Beast wars for Gameboy colour :)

You are correct sir. Although it's really a toss up between that and Mario Kart 64 for me. Then you got Mario Kart DS...
