The Ultimate Weapon, Webworld and Call Of The Primitives are the ones I always keep coming back to.

Season 3 is so horribly underrated.

    Poor Moist.

Another favorite of mine is Auto-bop, I know it's silly and all but still.

There are so many good ones but I'm glad webworld gets a lot of love.

    MTMTE
Dinobot island (so many new characters)
    The key to vector sigma
Master Builders (I loved exploring the relationship between hoist and grapple and that they used two characters who were not you typical warriors with guns)
    Webworld
    Burden hardest to bear
    ROOP
    Ultimate weapon

They had a combination of better animation and story.

The obvious choice would be Call of the Primitives but The Golden Lagoon actually has everything you could possibly want.

    • A strong and memorable character story focused on a a rarely seen but unique character - Beachcomber
    • Fantastic animation
    • An environmental message kids can understand
    • Focus on another other interesting characters like Perceptor, Seaspray, Powerglide, etc.
    • Cool exploration of the underwater Decepticon base
    • Autobots staging a break-out from Decepticon prison when the Decepticons tried to force them to fight to the death
    • Scenes with other rarer characters like Sunstreaker and Smokescreen doing their best
    • Omega supreme in base mode, showing attitude, marching to battle
    • Omega supreme being defeated by the Decepticons
    • A fierce all out battle between the combined S1/S2 Autobot/Decepticon armies (except combiners)
    • A classic example of Megatron's "if I can't have it, nobody can!" attitude which resonates with me into adulthood

Glad you brought up the Golden Lagoon, I was about to nominate it. Never gets old for me, and I love when a beat up Smokescreen looks to Omega Supreme to save the day and the big guy basically says "I got this", only to get wrecked by the Cons.

Many episodes were good in G1. Some better than others, however, one of my favourite episodes is Microbots. Not for the plot, but for the Decepticon Beach Party. As for some notable episodes, The Secret of Omega Supreme, The Ultimate Doom, MTMTE, City of Steel and The Golden Lagoon, The Search for Alpha Trion, Grimlock's New Brain, The Return of Optimus Prime, Call of the Primitives, Triple Takeover and Webworld were some of my favourites.

The Golden Lagoon is fantastic. I chose Webworld, but in reality Golden Lagoon is tied in my book. Beachcomber is one of the most underrated and underused characters in Transformers fiction in my opinion.

There's a lot of ones I like, but I'll just say The Return of Optimus Prime for now. There's a lot of dumb in it and much of it doesn't make sense, but it's hard to forget the episode that brought Optimus back. He got plenty of great dialogue. He got to use the Matrix himself to light our second darkest hour. They even played The Touch during that. It was a great song for the movie, but to hear it in the cartoon too really cemented it into the franchise further. Finally, the episode ended most appropriately with Optimus Prime saying "Autobots, transform and roll out!" while The Touch is playing. Awesome.

I love the key to vector sigma, But my favortie was was "Grimlocks new brain." Grimlock teaching Percepter was the best, and Computron is one of my favorite combiners.

    Said No One Ever.

Then again B.O.T deserves some respect, it was Derrick J. Wyatt mis-remembering that episode that gave us the awesome Animated Swindle.
