so, every year i always donate a few toys for Toys for Tots. Last year I donated a bunch of toys to Toys for Tots because of the promotions Hasbro ran where they sent out all those extra deluxes... gave me the idea that every year i want to donate 13 toys (1 for each month, plus an extra one for April, since it's my birthday, if i get gifts, why not buy one extra for some kid, right?)

so, anyways, i want to get a DOTM Voyager, just not sure which one will be the best for a kid, as i currently have none of them for myself yet, and only truly want Shockwave and Skyhammer at this point... so, who should i get?

Donate RTS toys instead, from Marshall's/Ross/TJMaxx. That way you can buy and donate twice as many for the same budgeted money.

Optimus seems easy to transform, fun to play with, and kids love him. Really can't go wrong with him.

I'll second this option. I donate heavily to Toys for Tots and I always look for clearanced/discounted figures so I can get more donations for the same amount of money. A few months ago, I picked up 4 Animated Voyager Skywarp figures at Marshalls for ~$20; four donations for roughly the price of a single Voyager. I plan on hitting a couple of the discounters this weekend to see if I can pick up some cheap RtS items for donations.

Of the figures provided as options in this poll, I'd go with either Shockwave or Skyhammer, as both are excellent figures. I'd stay away from Megatron, TBH, as I found it a little frustrating and annoying. Can't comment on Prime or Ironhide.

Prime, easy transformation without feeling stupid, fun to pose, and I dig the exaggerated styling.

You could grab the walmart exclusive prime w/commetter(sp?) for 17.77 (the price it is here local). Two toys for the price of one if you are wanting to go with a DOTM. You could even do the rodimus legends set.

This is a good idea. Could mix in some of the ROTF thats left over as well.

    Definitely Prime.

The more that shelfwarmer sells the better.

The only one I have at the moment is Megatron.

From a personal standpoint I can recommend him.

The only other one on the list I care for is Shockwave.

Though I've heard/read a good deal of praise for Skyhammer.

Bonus points for doing this for a good cause.

Optimus. He is the most popular and we need less Voyager Optimus's on our shelves. Win-Win!

Please don't choose with that argument in mind. "I hate this shelfwarmer so give them to the poor kids so I don't have to see it anymore". I honestly chose it because it really is a good toy for children for the reasons Shin listed among others.

Optimus is so generic be unique and get the kids someone unexpected. Shockwave isn't iconic enough for kids and he has a cybertonian mode, Skyhammer isn't iconic enough either. Ironhide is a dull character I wouldn't get him. So either megatron, optimus, or both. Megatron isn't very iconic (since he changed his alt mode) and lacks paint apps but has a ery unique look.
