My last trip to Hong Kong grab me some fantastic deals which had me smiling, even till today. 1) C-319 Landcross Giftset (MIB complete, Wing had a broken arm though) - approximately USD $78. 2) Action Masters Optimus Prime (MIB Unused, everything still sealed) - approximately USD $39. Edit: Missing the "d" on Landcross. I KNEW you were gonna turn up with your $7 Fort Max.
KB's closing days. Someone had pulled Offroad Ironhide and a legends class Leo Prime out of their packages. Upon checking, I was able to walk out of the store with both for free. (I know neither one is exactly the greatest figure ever, but for FREE, I'll take 'em.) I'll say it before everyone else does. Damn you
I couldn't find myself a USD $7 Fort Max but I gotten a vintage MOTU Castle Greyskull & Snake Mountain for FREE. OK, I win. Maybe I should go start a thread titled "Best Toys/Holy Grails in life are FREE" or something.
Recently: Ultimate Bumble Bee ROTF- Walmart $15.00 Had no intentions of getting this, but for 15 bucks... Deadlift and Beachcomber Walmart Exclusive- $3.00 Not sure what happened, they had it on a flat on a shelf with $3 written in sharpie on it. Trenchmouth and Slapdash Walmart Exclusive- $1.00 Expected this to be $3 also but rang up $1.
this is within a year... botcon 06 waspinator for $75, yeah couldnt beleive it. Botcon 07 Dreadwind and Bugbite $125, yeah wow! Did a really nice trade plus cash for botcon 06 darksyde Megs, in the end was like $350 Wonderfest Nemesis Convoy black binaltech convoy for $400
Notable deals: MIB Darkwings giftset: $120 Loose Fort Max(missing Spike, Radar dish, Gasket/Grommet/Cog): $90 BM Supreme Cheetor was on clearance at Kmart for $10... I was debating, was it worth $10? Finally went in one day, thinking "Why not?" Saw the price tag on Cheetor had then gone down to $4. I was in a KayBee debating about spending money on PM Slapdash or Quickswitch or saving it for some mail-away GI Joe stuff. I had decided on Quickswitch when I then noticed the the HUGE pile of Trypticons on clearance for $30. I don't know how I missed the pile first walking into the store, but once I saw that, the decision was much easier!
RiD Landfill - $8 Voyager TFA Prime- .99 Cents And then there was this one haul Leader Brawl, TFTM Starscream, Cybertron Thunderblast, Energon Sharkticon, some weapons and Armada Blurr, for some spare Yu-Gi-Oh cards I had lying around.
bought a grab bag at a yardsale for $1.00 contained several original g.i. joe's and a cerebros andc spike. then my W*O*E of an ex-wife sold all my transformers at a yardsale. so now I have only an encore redalert from japan I bought for $20.00..... so yeah thats it.
I'm a bargain shopper, so I think I've picked up a few really good deals over the years. Here are some of the retail deals: ROTF Wal-Mart Exclusive Ramjet-$5 Animated Target Exclusive Shockwave w/Bumblebee-$5 Animated Target Exclusive Sunstorm w/Ratchet-$5 Various Robot Heroes at Target-$1.50 per pack Beast Machines Supreme Cheetor-$7.00 I'm sure there are a few more, but these are the ones that stand out as being the more outstanding deals. From the non-retail side of things, my Brother-In-Law had a friend who was cleaning out the toys in his basement and wanted to sell them off. Here's a couple of pictures of the toys that I got in that lot: The TRU Reissues, 25th Prime, WST's, Desert Camo Bruticus guys, and model kits weren't part of the lot. However, there were actually two Reflectors, a Shockwave (that fell apart not long after the purchase ), and a Powermaster Prime w/his foam insert that are not pictured. I got all of these for $85! I was practically floating home after that purchase!
