I was looking at The Shield seasons on DVD on the website the other day and noticed that they had some of the early seasons up for $20, but when I went into the store a few days later the same seasons were still $50. Good thing I didn't ask a clerk WTF was going on.

I've noticed stuff like that before. I was looking for the first season of Futurama and online it was like 20 bucks but when I went to the store they wanted like 40 for it. So I said F this and got it somewhere else.

eh Best Buy is known for their shady tactics. Its not the first time they've been caught.

Best Buy = Little or no Criterions = Can suck my balls

Except when they have a cool incentive. Like The Departed steelbook.

Damn, that is shady. Good thing when I bought my Wacom tablet I bought it online and did in-store pick up. I probably wouldn't have got the $75 sale price if I went to the store to buy it.

    Artie FTW!

I had the same problem. But I asked. They scanned at $20. So got the first 4 seasons for $80 total + tax :D

I don't know if I'd jump on the low-level employees for not knowing the difference between the prices on the store intranet and the website. This is probably a "Huh wtf?" thing to some people who work there too.

So does anyone here work at a Best Buy? The only beef I've had with them is when they couldn't find the record of me buying an ipod there but yet they could find both of my parent's accounts in PA. In the end I believe they spelled my name wrong, I can't wait until I can change it.

Not to offend anyone here that works at best buy, but I've never ever gotten useful help from employees there.

I bought a laptop there, got a great deal and the staff guy was excellent.

But in general, I won't shop there. I didn't know about this particular tactic or anything, but I just feel like the internet is almost always a better place to shop than the larger brick-and-mortar corporate places.

That's pretty shady, I knew there was something fishy about them. Like when you go in looking for something on its release date, like beast machines and they told me that it was pused back another 2 weeks yet I go to the mall and get it at suncoast, before it closed, which was OWNED by them.

I've had mixed experiences with them, but this seems more like laziness than outright shadiness (I didn't bother reading the article though). Their employees are often quite uninformed and/or lazy, so I could imagine their website people are the same way. I know that I've had many times where I've gone there for new release DVDs, ad in hand, and been met with a "I have no idea what you're talking about" or "we don't know when we'll get that in" response.

    Print screen FTW!

Or at least that's what I'm gonna do from now on if I see a deal on Bestbuy.com
