I would have been tempted to vote Tatsunoko just for all their 1970s super-hero shows, but I had to give it to Sunrise.

Ghibli would be an obvious contender... except maybe for their limited output. But they are definitely one of the all-time greats, worldwide.

My runners-up would be Toei and Gainax.

... I'm seriously the only person who voted for Ghibli? Wow.

I would have said Gainax, but ever since Imaishi left, I think their glory days are behind them...

It's a toss up between Bones and Sunrise for me, but I went with Bones, because why not?

Gainax, followed by Sunrise. Gainax is a quality anime machine, while Sunrise of course churns out Gundam.

Of the poll, it clearly goes to Gainax, but my favorite animation studio of all time is Kyoto Animation

the work they do, especially their versions of the key visual novels (clannad, kanon, air, and in relation angel beats) and haruhi suzyumiya is some of the best animation i've ever seen

    especially clannad

In terms of titles I've seen and loved its Madhouse for me. Gainax have only hit the right note with me with Evangelion, whereas Madhouse have a whole slew of films I absolutely love.

I still rate Ninja Scroll as one of the best Anime ever made.
