When they said they were going to film DOTM in 3D, I was worried. But thankfully, the 3D sequences were using the technology at their very best.

The best 3D scenes in my opinion were:
    - The Ark flying above Cybertron
    - The Highway Battle (especially Bee's transformation above the truck)
    - The Decepticon army breaking out of the moon
    - Cybertron materializing beyond the Earth

    Anyone else?

The highway battle, the only one that I felt was 3D.

The highway battle was the most stand-out 3D of the movie to me, though I quite enjoyed the 3D as a whole.

Wing suit guys. The best 3D is the no-CGI stuff.

The freeway battle, Optimus taking down the Driller, pretty much the whole movie altogether.

The only part that I found really memorable was after the building came down, there were little flecks of ash floating in the air, and I swear thought they were real.

Probably a three-way tie between the opening space battle on Cybertron, the skydiving sequence and the collapsing skyscraper/Driller/Optimus flying around sequence.

Optimus taking down the driller, absolutely. But honestly, the whole movie had an excellent use of 3D.

It's not a long scene but I loved the effect 3D had when Optimus reloaded his gun after shooting the 'con when he returned to the city from the Xantium. The way the shell flew into the screen was pretty cool and the scene itself was epic.

For me, it was definitely the base-diving scene, but the rest of the movie had good usage of 3D. Also, Bee's slow mo transformation on the highway was pretty cool.

The squirrel-suit jump, or Bumblebee's slow-motion transformation to avoid the truck.

I have to say that unlike most movies that have used it, DOTM made excellent use of 3D, where it added depth to scenes rather than being used to launch things toward the audence (which just feels like showing off!).

This is the only movie I've seen in 3D in theaters. For some reason, the Ark crashing on the moon stood out to me the most. The particles flying out looked so realistic. The scenes in Africa (were Sentinel and Optimus in Africa or was it some place else?) were also gorgeous.

Fuck, how could I forget that?

This. It's tiny little details that have the most affect. The particles in the scene between Optimus and Sentinel and the ashes that fly in front of the camera when the Decepticons attack at the National Mall all make things seem so real. It's sort of like "Yeah, okay, so the giant collapsing building is in 3D, BUT SO ARE THE GOSHDARN SPECS OF DUST AND SPARKS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA!"

When Optimus pumped his weapon and the shell hit the ground and bounced out of the screen

Interesting thing: I cant see "pop-out" effects like this. And I dont mean like I think they are horrible, I mean I literally cant see them. For me, when such an effect happens... it just isnt 3D, but regular 2D....
