which figure(s) do you think are the best deluxe figures in Energon? I've got them all, but am thinking about getting a couple for my cousin and just wondered... I personally love Inferno and Downshift...
Towline definitely... his bot mode isn't really inhibited by the gimmick like the others (a thigh swivel would've made him nearly pefect). After that, they all kinda stink, and so it's just down to aesthetics. Rodimus and Downshift are both decent.
Inferno and Roadblock/Grapple are my favorites...they're also the only two I've bothered to pick up since they looked alright for me in 'bot mode compared to the others.
i've been needing that set since it first came out... I do have Rodimus and Thunderclash, but i'm gonna sell Rodimus now... Classics Rodimus with FP upgrade will be my Rodimus Prime... and Prowl is a fun mold... still want to repaint my blue Prowl as Slapdash... i've got every mold from Energon at the moment... I personally love the combining gimmick... sure, some of them looked pretty funky, but i still really enjoy the line as a whole... been playing with my Downshift and Slicer all day, combining them and taking them apart...
Rodimus and Prowl , with prowl on top as his head is best suited to i the combined form, Rodimus' head seems even smaller in combined form than it really is.
my personal opinion based off the combined 2-in-1 mode. deluxe Rodimus & deluxe Optimus. I love their combined mode the best. My opinion based off seperate figures. Deluxe Downshift & deluxe Rodimus.
- Individual figures - Roadblock and Rodimus. - Combination - SWAT Team 2-pack, with Prowl as the arms and Checkpoint as the legs.
Towline, the dude powerlinks with himself him and Inferno were the best deluxe autobots in energon. None of them were as good as the decepticon deluxes though, Starscream, demolisher, snowcat, sharkticon, barricade and slugslinger still display well today, unlike the autobots who suffered for their gimmick.
i find the otherway round looks better!! but i push prowls legs in a bit so they dont look too long. My 3 faves are prowl, inferno and probably energon hotshot as favourite, sure they are a bit weird looking but hav a nice chunky g1 look.
thanks funny Inferno and Downshift are two of the three Energon figure I have (Ultra Magnus is the other) and they and Powerlinked proudly on my desk (Inferno on top) I do enjoy them greatly.

I liked Downshift and Towline most. Inferno and Rodimus were on the next tier, with Hotshot and Prowl being the worst.
