Knowing Mixy's face is based off Brendan Gleeson makes me hate it a lot less. The Osprey model would have been sick.
Agreed. It makes me wonder if early on in the script writing phase if Mixmaster was more of a main character, and Gleeson was being considered for his voice?
Hopefully Springer and Firstorm (Breakaway) and even Depth Charge go the way of Soundwave/Arcee and make it into the next film. I, however, want that Sub Decepticon...give it the name of Tidal Wave or Trypticon or hell even seaspray, I just think that's the one thing to one up Devastator.
This work is spectacular. It's a huge shame that most of this didn't end up in the film. Like, having Breakaway "Firestorm" and Springer with those designs would've been beautiful. I love finally getting a look at Overload's robot mode too.
you know what i have gathered from these concept images? we kinda got bumped when it came to the transformers in the movie i honestly believe these guys were on the table to be part of the movie but bay and ilm had them cut for budget and time constraints (it's probably why these guys made it to toy form in one way or another.
All look so awesome. Also I see Breakaway is there (w/ a different name). It would be nice too see him in TF 3.
Osprey aka springer would have been amazing!!!!... although I hope they would have used a differnt head for him because that head looks very feminine....as a matter of fact did anyone else notice that is basically the head of elita-one from the prequel comic book (I think it was the reign of starscream storyline)
Man, i know this isn't the topic to talk about this but i really hope Bay gets sat down and put back in his place. He needs to make the bots more centered and actually work as a team and with each having their special skills. Autobots really need air support! I blame this purely on his love for the military which take the job away from the bots actually being the reinforcements and line of defense.
O.O HOLY SHIT!!! wow. this is some awesome artwork. would have loved to have seen some of these in the final cut of the movie. overload, springer, and the model t are a big surprise. i love them. and that early pic of devastator is intresting. would have loved to see springer and breakaway in the movie. epic stuff.
why??? why more autobots? just so they can kill EVEN MORE decepticons and brutally rip their faces off?? NOT FAIR!! but u do have a very good point. i hope they include some of these bots in the 3rd movie. i hope they really sit things down and make this one the best out of all 3.
Nice designs. When I look at them it gives me a dark feeling and shows how much fear the Dcons can bring, too bad it didn't work out that way in the film. The only one I don't care for is Breakaway, Devs, and Power Prime due to the fact he looks cartoony and that I hate anything involving Optimus Prime combining
