UPDATE 4/19/11- HALP! HEAD SIZE DILEMA!

Okay, so the painted head on the left was the first head I made. It's slightly bigger (top to bottom) than the tiny starscream head, and much larger in other dimensions. Anyway, I was generally pretty pleased with it, but on her body, the proportions don't turn out as feminine as I'd like. So I started making a 2nd, larger head (the unpainted one) and it definitely looks girlier. Please use your imagination to fill in the colors & headcrest on #2. Also pretend I'm a better sculpter. Thanks!

The problem is I put her next to one of her brothers and the larger head suddenly made her look like some kind of inflatey-balloon-head!

The smaller head definitely works better for hanging out with male seekers, but the larger head makes for more feminine proportions when she's by herself.

    HALP! Which is better?

looking brilliant, this will probably turn out as the best looking slipstream we have seen since most just opt to change the head.

Don't forget to ask Derrick J. Wyatt on his formspring account all about slipstream.

Looks sweet, can't wait to see it done!

I'm hoping/planning on modeling up the different clone heads in 3D and posting them on Shapeways.....er, just not how soon I'll get to that. (But I have a whole set of Starscream figures waiting for new heads, so hopefully sooner than later!)

Are you going to use the Repolable Slipstream face?

Looks good so far, but. Is that tape?

No, there's no tape there. The white stuff is styrene.

Sweet! I like the sound of this as it would save me doing it!

    ?

Thanks! If my headscupt comes out half as good as yours I'll be thrilled!

Yeah, that's not too much pressure or anything! Thanks mate! :D

    First draft of her headsculpt:

In general I'm pleased with the overall shape, but she's a little rough in spots and her expression isn't quite what I was aiming for.

man that's a tough call. could you take a pic with both her arms down and lookinf forward?
the first head looks a little small, the second a little big. Hmmm....

Here's a question, could you lower the head at all? the head may look like the right size if the neck wasn't as long. I know she has a long neck Slipstream (Animated - Transformers Wiki) but this may help give the illusion that shes a little bit smaller and feminine.

    Randy!

I agree, the length of the neck might be part of the size issue. I do however like the smaller head for the look and attitude.

I'm liking the smaller head better. Also, your sculpting skillz look pretty good to me. Don't sell yourself short! :)
