i'm not trying to make this a bash PS3 thread...but seeing that its looks as though a Wii version looks to be closer to becoming reality is awesome....this is only a rumor and not 100% true though.

But you know what, Wii loves Katamari too.

Probably should be noted that IGN has this under the headline of "Rumor".

But if its true, then Im pissed. I would actually rather play Katamari on the PS3 than the Wii. That way you get the benefit of motion sensing with whatever updated visuals can come from more powerful hardware. That being said, Im happy its coming to the Wii too, but am very upset by the cancellation of the PS3 version.:(

Also, why would they make 360 take priority over PS3 for this game? I know 360 has a much better install base, but the PS fanboys seem to love Katamari, and 360 seems like it has a hard time selling any game without shooting, sports, or driving.

im really running out of reasons to get a PS3. the xbox 360 and the wii have awesome exclusive games, and now Katamari too. what does the PS3 have? i guess Heavenly Sword, and Lair look pretty sweet, but will that be enough?

I'll believe it when Namco/Bandai posts a news brief concerning it.

what updated visuals? the game uses the same blocky graphics from the first two, there's just more stuff on the screen.

and with how stupid the sixaxis motion control can be, if it still goes to the PS3 I pray that it doesnt use sixaxis. it's a pain to use.

I don't buy the explanation in the rumor. If Namco can do Tekken 5: DR so fast, and do ridge racer, and now tekken 6 and soul calibur, how can a much simpler game pose too difficult of problems?

720 or 1080p support for sure, possibly higher detailed environments? But from what I've seen of the game on 360, it does look as if even the PS2 can handle a port of this game.

As for Sixaxis, I think it could work well with Katamari. Maybe not as well as it can on Wii, but I think it could be fun. Worst case scenario, you go back to PS2 style controls.
