nice huge signature
No shit, I thought that was part of the thread at first.
I heard about these guys on the Zack Wylde forums years ago. I think the guitarist was a regular poster.
They're pretty funny. Just got a major album release as well I believe. My favorite is Blackened the USSR.
toyfare was plugging em, looks pretty rad.
You can also try :
Q-unit (Queen + 50 Cent)
Black Smith (Black Sabbath and The Smiths)
I like "Hey Dude" though, I always sing that song.
Not even this could make me listen to Metallica. Bunch of MTV pop-metal, always has been, always will be.
Pop-metal?? I don't even know how to respond to that.
I ugh... -found- some of their music on a popular video website, not bad, pretty fun stuff.
Huh? No. Maybe for a certain period here and there, but certainly not at the beginning, HELL no.
Metal as it is today, for better or worse, would not even exist without Metallica. That's like trying to take Sabbath out of the metal equation. "They're old and slow. They suck."
And someone saying that 'Puppets', 'Lightning' or 'Kill 'em All' is "MTV pop metal" is just a bad joke.
Let me ad myself to the people who whole heartedly disagree with you on this.
Yes, most everything after the black album was somewhat commercial and watered down compared to their previous stuff, but like Jiggles said, Metal as it is today would not even exist without Metallica.
...and early Metallica ROCKS YOUR FUCKING FACE OFF.
metallica pre black album > you
The second F is for Fail.
Now now foster, some people don't realize that music existed before 1991. So they miss out on albums like Kill 'em All, Ride the Lighting and Puppets. And if anyone can prove to me any of those albums are "pop metal" I will admit I am wrong.
Good luck with that BTW.
Labeling Metallica without doing any research will only get oneself from metal listeners' scorn.
Metallica didn't exist AFTER 1991. They reformed one time to make Garage, Inc. But that's IT.
That's a good way to put it!
They did other songs besides 'Enter Sandman' and 'Nothing Else Matters', you know?
Like 'Blackened', 'Motorbreath' and the other ones that were mentioned before.
