Guys, my buddy is into beast wars and is there a difference between the 10 anniversary and origional molds? Mainly transmetal rattrap
TakTomy's version of Dinobot features a new head mold, but Hasbro's does not. Both Hasbro and TakTomy released the original Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Primal molds featuring head remoulds. Cheetor, Transmetal Rattrap, Rhinox, Tarantulas and Waspinator and are not re-molded in either Hasbro's or TakTomy's re-release.
Difference? 10th anniversary is more show accurate than the originals.Newly molded head to give it a more show-accurate look.
Actually Megatron and Optimus are the only 10th figures to feature remolded heads. the Japanese dinobot has a paint app to show off his grin, but thats all it is. He even has those dorky helmet halves still. As far as specific differences in Rattrap, his original transmetal self was sort of a dul gold in robot mode. Almost, but not quite silver. The repaint on the other hand is a much more exacting silver, making him slightly more show accurate, and using more primary chromed red, and a darker shade of brown. The figure's chest comm also has a Maximal symbol in it in the repaint. 10th Rattrap also lacks the original's name being written on its back. Original Rattrap (1998) - Maximal Spy - www.tfu.info Repaint Rattrap (2006) - Maximal - www.tfu.info Technicly speaking, if you want the more show accurate, you'd do better to buy 10th, unless you want to drop the cash for a Metals version of Rattrap, who doesn't have the maximal symbol on his chest. 10th is the better deal. Oh....and hello
