I wonder, if lemon ever puts it back on the market!, if Ariels Windblade shapeways head would fit on Ripclaw.. no point in ruining an already hard to find figure!
I only had to take a small amount off the socket. I don't see why it won't work. I am a big fan of fakebusker.
Although her pre-earth mode was a jet, I like this. The armour paltoons look like samurai ones, which compliments her Kabuki look. It's ironic that girls were never allowed to be actual samurai, or act in Kabuki plays, though...
OK, you said so, so ok. This is a great idea, it's really cool-looking, good design, great construction, and a well designed paintjob, but a bad application of that paintjob. I see it all the time. It's not that the paints are applied sloppy or imprecise, it's that the surface of the paint turns out bad. This is what happens when you try to cover your surface in one go. You see a textured surface with brushstrokes, not smooth and pro-looking. The way around this is unfortunately time-consuming. Your paints should go on in layers, and that means painting over the same area several times. But instead of the think, gloppy, straight out of the bottle paint, you really need to water it down to thin it out. This isn't even bringing up the issue of priming your surface first, which can help you achieve coverage and opacity, but a lot of people don't even do it, although it IS important to soap wash the figure to get rid of the oily residue they use the get the plastic to separate from the mold so that paint can adhere to it. The important thing to keep in mind is that if you use watered down, thin paints and paint in layers, slowly building up a solid color, you will get a smooth even finish over the surface you paint. Try it out on a spare piece of plastic or fodder figure. Once I started doing that the results I got were like night and day.
That is very cool. I like the color layout and the samurai-like details really suit her. The dragon kind of suits the theme, too. I even kind of want one of my own. Take note, Hasbro and Takara.
