ok, so ive recently become ADDICTED to the show, and now im dying to get the toys. thing is im nearly broke, so i plan to get only one toy per character (cept maybe Primal) and heres what i figure so far

    Owned:
    Airrazor-Armada version
    Silverbolt-Purple Universe
    Depthcharge

    Plan to get:
    Cheetor-Universe 2.0
    Dinobot-Universe 2.0
Rhinox Universe? (im waiting to see if they make a Universe 2.0 of him too)
    Optimal Optimus
    Waspinator-Animated
    Inferno

do you think those are good? and what are the best representations of these:

    Megatron
    Tarantulus
    Blackarachnia (might use Animated...)
    Quickstrike
    Skorponok
    Terrorsaur
    Rampage

    Optimus Primal
    Rattrap
Tigatron (will he be a repaint?)
    Maybe Tigerhawk

any opinions? Show accuracy is a huge plus. also, do you think Animated Blackarachnia and Waspinator are good choices?

Pictures of suggested toys would be helpful

Dont get universe cheetor, Buy either Transmetal Or Transmetal 2, get Transmetal Tarantulas and Animated Blackarachnia. All 3 Megatrons are good but I like the Transmetal version, get Henki Henki Dinobot, Scorrponoks first figure is really good same with Quickstrike and terrorsaur and Rampage is an EXCELENT figure.

Here's my thoughts on the best version of each Beast Wars character you have listed:

Megatron- definitely the Transmetal version. Or, failing that, the Armada Predacon repaint. But be careful with its arms.

Tarantulus- the Transmetal version is superior.

Blackarachnia- I'd suggest the Transmetal 2 Version; I liked it more than Animated.

Quickstrike- There's really only one of him, a Basic size but its very good.

Scorponok- Definitely stick to the Beast Wars version; great toy.

Terrorsaur- Not really worth it in my opinion.

Rampage- If you already have Depth Charge then you MUST get this guy!! He's awesome.

Optimus Primal- I'd have to say the original Ultra-sized was my favorite.

Tigerhawk's a great mold too; you should definitely consider it.

You'll also need a Rattrap. I suggest the Transmetal version.

If you want both Cheetor and Tigatron, I'd suggest you get the Transmetal Cheetor mold (I own the Armada repaint) and then get Tigatron too. If you get the original Cheetor toy, Tigatron is just be a repaint of that.

Megatron : The Toys R Us 10th Anniversary Ultra or the 10th Deluxe or the Transmetal
Tarantulus : Transmetal or the Fox kids Transmetal
Blackarachnia (might use Animated...) Animated is Good so is the Beast Wars Returns one
Quickstrike : Only one choice really he's really cheap usually
Scorponok : Only one choice -he's not always easy to find though
Terrorsaur : I like the Beast Machines remold of the Transmetal best or the Japanese Basic
Rampage : Metals version is by far the best version.

Optimus Primal : RID Supreme Primal - but I quite like the Cybertron deluxe one too
Rattrap : Transmetal - perhaps the metals or the 10th Version is - best.
Tigatron (will he be a repaint?) The Japanese reissue is the best one
Maybe Tigerhawk :Only one choice really. I like him but he's a little fragile

WARNING : NEVER LEAVE YOUR RAMPAGE IN TANK MODE FOR LONG THE TRACKS WILL SPLIT OR FRACTURE.

This thread is FoW. I'm looking to pick up the 'definitive' versions of the BW Characters in the coming year.

So far I've decided to go mostly with the '10th anniversary' characters...the Primal and Megs from the two pack are BEAUTIFUL. I NEED those...

I had the Transmetal figs back in the day, and, like a moron, sold them. Oh well, have to jump back in the pool I guess.

At this point, I would stay away from the TsM Megatron because of the brittleness issues.
The original Megatron design was more to scale vs the other toys and with the 10th ani re-issue should be available at a reasonable price.

Yeah, be very careful if you get a TM, the brown part suffers from brittleness already had to fix mine once and almost broke again.

the 10th anniversary pack of the original Ultra Primal and Megs are the best deal for each character I think. Own a large chunk of beast wars but for each character go for TM if they have one or just the one closest to the show.

Well for Optimus and Megatron you really can't get any better than the 10th Anniversary two pack. Great scuplts and the remolded heads for both of them are awesome.

Rampage is a great toy, as well as Quickstrike. I don't have any of the BW versions of Blackarachnia but I really like the Animated version of her (except for the open molded hands, not a big fan of that at all). TM Terrorsaur is pretty decent IMO, and TM Rattrap is a must have. I have the Armada version of the TM Cheetor mold and its not bad, I don't really like the TM2 Cheetor mold so I can't recommend that.

IMHO, the best BW toys overall are:

    TM2 Megs
    TM1 Megs
    TM1 Primal
    TM1 Waspinator
    Tigerhawk
    Tripredacus

I have quite a few MIB (opened) BW toys for sale BTW.
