I got a question regarding the "leaders" in Beast Wars.

It seems that for every leader, there's the evil alternative (duh)

    Optimus Primal has Megatron
    TM Primal has TM Megatron
    Optimal Optimus has TM2 Megatron

But who goes with Big Convoy and Lio Convoy? I figure Magmatron for one, but that leaves one extra "good" leader.

Wow, that's one of the ugliest BW toys I've ever seen.

Now I don't know if I should break my "no buying unless I like the toy itself" rule just to have all the leaders.

Galvatron is actually a pretty cool toy, at least in dragon and bot mode.

Yeah, Galvatrons an awesome fig and extremely fun.
Just dont judge him for his tank mode lol
I admit his heads a wee bit big , but he's very poseable, can use his tail claws as swords, is the only Transformer with a real frikn glass marble in him, and those drill halves can officially be removed. He comes packaged with them off.

If you get all the leaders, but skip him then Ill think there something wrong with you haha
If you saw him in action in BW2 then you'd really want him. He's a destructive sob.

Maybe the picture on TFU.info is misleading then. Because he looks like the opposite of poseable in his robot form. I'll likely get him in the future just to have the various leaders, and his alt forms look decent enough to purchase. I mean, I bought Leobreaker and I think he looks 10x worse than the BW Galvatron. Before I do decide to purchase, I am going to research better pictures of the toy.

For right now though, I'm trying to decide on who to get first; Big Convoy, or Magmatron.

Galvatron is pretty awesome. Very nice robot mode, in spite of its perceived flaws. The backpack weighs him down a little, but he does have more or less full articulation. He's certainly better than Leobreaker and more posable than Magmatron.

Of the Neo leaders, Big Convoy is a "shell former", his alt mode hangs off his body as panels, and can get in the way and hamper articulation. However, he is pretty poseable once you work out how to get round this fact, he has a removeable Matrix that even fits into his hands, and he's got the biggest gun ever wielded by a Maximal.
Magmatron, on the other hand, is a kind of "Fuzor, done right". He has three modes, robot, beasts, and Fuzor. The Fuzor mode is a hybrid of the three beasts and is kinda bizarre, but a fun extra. The robot mode is plain badass. Not very poseable in the arms, but the legs are alright. He sacrifices a little poseability for his incredibly unique style. You'll never own another one like him.

Of the two, I prefer Magmatron because I love the combination and his overall style, but Big Convoy is a worthy companion piece. They're both worth getting. 'fraid I can't say it more clearly than that, you're dealing with two of the very best Beast Wars toys Takara ever made.

I bought Galvatron ages ago, when the Hasbro toy site first started up and had him for sale.

Let me preface this by saying that I love all Dragon Transformers. I started collecting Web Diver and Daigunder because they had dragon figures in them, I've even bought DinoZaurs Dragons because of that.

    I hate Galvatron.

As a dragon toy, I think he's the lamest of the lot. Now, he's a nice robot, and a nice drill tank, but I can't stand the Dragon mode myself.

I'm getting Galvatron, now that I've seen CM's pics I can't wait. But it could be another month or so. *sigh*

Not really sure about Magmatron, but it's only because I'm not very good at combining figures. Is he stable?

I can let you know in about a week. ;)  I "ordered" him and Big Convoy last night.

Within the next few weeks I intend on getting Galvatron and Lio Convoy. I still hate the evil leaders' faces. They look so juvenile cartoonie, that's why I despise T-Rex Megatron.

I guess Galvatron and Magmatron are more show accurate than Big or Lio :D

Big Convoy toy is much better lookin than the character in the show, and Lio toy is somewhat worse looking, IMO.

I've never seen the show! I think I saw parts of the movie a long time ago, though, but it was bad quality and I had no idea what was going on.

That Magmatron can be a little aggrevating when combining, but not too bad. Just wrestling with dinoparts and getting them into place properly. There's alot that get's in the way here and there and the birds feet does'nt want to stay connected to Mag's chest very well. But once you have him down you'll appreciate his menacing look even more. He's very unique and all the plastic is very solid. His look alone is 'emperor' looking
Got him a few years ago and never even thought of selling him.
The 3 dinos alone are very fun even though they dont have any robot modes.

I think you'll appreciate him more once you get a few more Predacon beasts in your ranks IMO

CGHM, go to www.youtube.com and search for "Beast Wars Second" and "Beast wars Neo". You can see some videos from the show :)

CM...that sounds pretty hard for a novice like me :redface2:
