Whats the difference between those two series? Is Beast Wars Neo a Japanese version of Beast Wars and Beast Machines?

    Thanks

No. Japanese version of Beast Wars is Beast Wars and Beast Wars Metals (season 2 and 3) and Beast Machines is Beast Wars Returns. Beast Wars II and Neo are stories that take place (apparently) in between Beast Wars and Beast Wars Metals.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. They were made after the mainframe BW cartoon, if that's what your asking. The characters in the shows seem to have left Cybertron sometime after the Axalon and Darksyde crashed. But both BWII and Neo take place in apost-apocalyptic earth in the far future.

BW: Optimus Primal and his crew of the Axalon go after Predacon Rogue Megatron and end up time displaced.

BWII: Lio Convoy and his crew of the Yukikaze go to the planet Gaea because Galvatron and his crew of the massive ship Galvaburg II have found Angolmois energon in abundance.

There's a BWII Movie that's about Lio Convoy and Optimus Primal teaming up to beat another time displaced threat.

BWNeo: Continues after BWII with Big Convoy being assigned a rookie crew and command of the Gung Ho to find out what happened to Lio Convoy. Magmatron and his crew of the Dinosaur join in the race to collect the scattered Angolmois capsules that are across the universe.

Personally I rather enjoyed BWNeo. I liked the variety of the episodes, the casts, and the plot twist towards the end.

They do not directly contradict eachother, but do not overlap either except for the short period in the BWII movie. They are both series with transformers that turn into animals from the 90s, but that's about all they have in common.

Basically, there was a big gap between when Beast Wars Season 1 and 2 were shown in Japan (so long, in fact, that Beast Wars Season 2 and 3 were called Beast Wars Metals and treated as a sequel show, rather than the same one). So to fill in the time between, they made Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo, two japanese-exclusive series using toys that never made it into North American Beast Wars (along with some new ones).

And toys that were. There were many toy only BW figures that were cast members of BWII and Neo.

BWII and Neo aren't alternate takes or anything, they are stories set in the same universe, just with a focus on a different group. Car Robots also loosely ties into that expanded universe.

This is a discussion board. There are a bazillion other pointless threads here that aren't pointless to SOMEBODY. maybe OP would rather hear it from the mouths of fellow fans, than read through TFWiki. Don't be so exclusionary, please.

Beast Wars Neo has nothing to do with Beast Wars. Also it's... kinda crummy, like Beast wars 2.

NEVER watch the Japanese dub of Beast wars, though. It will kill you.

    Yeah, never watch Japanese BW.

It's interesting that you didn't like BWNeo since I rather enjoyed it. On the same note, I found BWII to be rather lackluster.
