One more thing on Neocron. Maybe this form can be used as an intermediate form for Unicron once he grows from his tank mode. It would be a good reason for the incomplete ring, and somewhat different form (like the incomplete Death Star in Star Wars Ep 6)

 

I find that very hard to believe - simply because resin hardcopies like the Unicron we've seen are cast using rubber molds. They're no use for mass production, but they'll certainly usually make more than one.

Maybe one Neocron went missing, but I strongly suspect there's another five or six in Takara's headquarters to cut a mold from if required. That's the reason they'll have sent it out to trade shows in the first place.
