Can someone post pics of the 2 BW Megatrons? BW and TM specifically. Trying to put together the best BW cast I can, one of each, and can't seem to decide between the two.

 

There were three megatron figures produced by Has/Ken for Beast Wars.
There was the Normal Purple Tyrannosaur Megatron with the squirting mouth
There was the Chromed parts mechanical Tyrannosaur Megatron with the GPS (Transmetal)
and there was the Sweet-looking Dragon Megatron with the "Spark Avatar" seat in his chest (Transmetal-II)

 

the Japanese Transmetal doesnt have GPS, i believe

 

For season one Megatron, I have the figure that was release back in 1996. Now in 2006, TRU had a reissued boxed with Optimus Primal was more like the show version.

Now there is a TM2 version of the character, that turned into a dragon. But it was one of the figures that my brother's kids broke on me.

I have both (10th and Metals, respectively) and it's a tough call. The original is big and imposing and grr big trex. The Metals, while more on the expensive side, is probably better because grr smaller trex on roller skates...

If I absolutely had to pick, the Metals version wins. I just like it better. Not knocking the original, but yeah.

 

Of the two that I have (OG Rexy megs and Dragon Megs) I like Megatron as a Dragon better. Mostly just because Megatron as a Dragon doesn't have his articulation hindered by his gimmicks. Good luck keeping TM-II megatron in good shape, though, he has a lot of brittle Transparent plastic, especially on his wings.

 

I like the TM version more as it looks like his show version and has hands. Now, I have the Hasbro version and its like a ticking bomb.

I would suggest getting the Takara version, which is crumble free.

If you're going to buy these figures, do it right. Get the Takara versions 

 

Oh wow, I didn't realize the Transmetal was like a lot smaller... that kinda changes things though, especially since the Prime I plan to use will be alot bigger...

Which Primal are you planning on using?

If you are going Optimal Optimus, the show does acknowledge the size difference...

That was the general plan, unless I try to go for the United, though I dunno bout using the monkey with the surfboard lol.

 

TM Megatron is the best version of the character. I like it more than his other two releases (original and dragon).

I actually do not like Megatron's original T-Rex body. wicked kibbly, and, you know, completely handless.

TM1 is my favorite BW Megatron mold.

 

Transmetal because it has real arms.

 

I would love to find a LD silver TM Megatron.
