It depends on which characters you like, and what toys you like.

^ People could feel differently about a toy. I may love it for what it is while you may hate the hel* outta it.

In a nutshell, one man's love could be another's poison. ;)

I personally like all of the Beast Wars figures (including the Japanese stuff), they all just have this unique charm to them. Some such as Injector are pretty ugly though...

Of the non-show characters my favorites would be Cybershark, Buzzclaw, Iguanus and Spittor. I'd suggest just getting what looks good to you though.

I would say that if you had to get one Beast Wars figure, choose any Optimus Primal. They're all good except for Deluxe Optimus Primal and Mega Blast Punch Optimus Primal from Beast Machines, who, while not bad, are not up to the standard of the rest.

I also think that all Beast Wars figures are good, but you should start from the Deluxe and Basic line, I think those lines churn out good figures and aren't too expensive (relatively).

Also, don't be afraid of sifting through Beast Machines, despite the bad reputation it may have gotten. Sure, it may not be the best line, but there are a few gems in there, if you look hard enough.

I would also recommend looking at the Japanese Beast Wars Neo Line. They produce some really funky, yet excellent molds! Big Convoy and Magmatron are both excellent (although I like Magmatron better) and aren't too expensive currently.

All in all, everyone's opinions and preferences vary. I would think up what my favorite types of animals are and see if anything has been made using them as alt modes. Then maybe Google some reviews to get a clearer picture.

Your going to find many of the first run of figures in the basic/deluxe size can get expensive get as the some of the molds are lost/broken and no reissues possible. I have seen Rattrap sell for as much as $70 for example.

    Just a heads up.

The only figures I had a really hard time finding when I rebuilt my collection were TM Megatron, original Scorponok, original Rattrap, and Metals Rampage...everything else wasn't too bad.
I splurged and bought my TM Megatron MISB...planning on leaving him that way in order to combat the GPS.

While I'm sure this will be merged with/added to the currently Beast Wars thread (which I miss) it would help us if you told us what exactly you're looking for? Good figures, only the cast members, best representations of the cast member, Transmetals or not?

A large portion of the cast exists only in one toy of each appearence (not counting Japanese figures) for example, there's only one Scorponok toy, his original Mega class figure, which IMO was pretty cool.
