I wanna like PoTP Primal, but I just can't. Everything about it looks cheap. Its just not good.

Let's help Hasbro out with a guide of acceptable and unacceptable gimmicks:

Acceptable:
Parts of the beast body turning into a weapon in robot-mode.

Unacceptable:

Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing them bring back the basic flip formers. They were so well done back then. And Hasbro seems to love their simple TF designs now days...

 

10 or so Legends-sized figures. Easy.

 

But definitely updated. A little more detail in beast and Robot modes... Ankle tilts would be a good start too lol

They revisited the flipchanger gimmick for Transformers Animated. Resulted in some pretty fun figures. Wouldn't mind seeing it again for some hypothetical future BW basics.

I kind of lost interest in Primal after Season One; most other characters became far more interesting to me ‘after the storm’ but that was one hell of a fun toy to play with.

 

I recall someone once saying that the G1 Press have some special connection to the BW faction Preds, anyone have any legit info on that? I performed a Google search to no avail.

Every year 1 basic had a spring loaded transformation

Every year 2 basic and deluxe had some sort sping or firong gimmick.

Chrome, spark crystals, useless cockpits, mutant masks, the list goes on.

 

They're all on the Unacceptable list, right?

 

No, not really. Several of them would be fun to bring back

 

Spark crystals were always a really cool detail to me. They did nothing and impacted the figure in no way besides just looking cool. I also wouldn't mind spring-loaded basics coming back. Sure they all had the same basic transformation, but they also had the same great level of posability.

 

spark crystals are cool as fuck, i wish they were a standard feature on tf's even if i get why they're not. the spark concept has always been super cool to me and integrating it in the toys made them feel more.. alive?

 

Who else had a spark chamber? All I can think of is TM2 Cheetor's leg.
