TFP has grown on me like Beast Wars did. This new season is becoming more and more interesting the closer it gets to airing. Can't wait.

And just to talk about the fiction design in general: it's about time Optimus got on the same level as Megatron in terms of body build!

Except for the feet, yeah it actually does.

I think I like the toy's proportions slightly better.

To me he just looks strange there.
His arms look swollen, his feet look flat and he overall just looks WAY too bulky, specifically around his waist.
And not in a good way like FOC Prime.
I'm trying to base whether or not I think that toy Prime will appear on the show on how quality all the pics of it are, and this model looks really show-quality unlike the package art and other various images of it. I just hope that in the show he looks more like the toy than this pic.
Or at least if he looked like he had feet and arms that could move.
I like the chest design there more though. Except it should have the truck grill... D:

I don't think that Optimus is the CGI model. Looks kinda 2D-ish to me in some parts.

    Concept art perhaps?

Nah, definitely a CGI model, an official one, too. If you study it for a while it possesses the quality of the actual show.

    Hm. That's too bad.

Cuz it looks like shit. It reminds me of both WFC Optimus designs.

And that's a bad thing to be reminded of.

I agree it looks better than the toy - and his face looks like his regular one, not the toy one.
Still think the original design is way better, though.

Due to the proportions the CGI model of Prime looks fat. Personally i've never liked the more 'beefy' Transformers such as WFC Prime either.

Also... noticing a major drop in detail on the CGI model. Granted it'll probably have more detailed added however it feels like they will kill off Optimus Prime just to bring him back in a newer model solely for giving the animators something easier to work with.

Who designed that thing Pat Lee?

I dunno WFC Optimus design is pretty sweet when drawn right.

But NOTHING could ever make his FOC design not look like a pile of shit.

Theory: The Matrix downloads a dying Optimus INTO megatron, reformatting him into Optimus Prime. That's why we don't have much megatron related stuff in Beast Hunters media. (ignoring the instruction stories)

Why do you care that I find it a bad thing to be reminded of? Are you being defensive because somebody said something you don't like about something you like or are you going to genuily discuss character design with me?

Because if it's the first, and knowing the internet it totally is the first, I don't care enough to explain. I'll just say that I don't like it and leave it at that.

With drawn right you mean drawn differently from the in-game model I presume? Because in the game itself, which is what I played (Didn't read comics about the game) he looks like shit to me.

Well I was thinking when you normalise his proportions a bit so he ends up looking say like this:

Because yeah I have to agree that the game model looks like shit that's for sure, but then again EVERY character looked like shit in the game. Until I started reading RID I couldn't stand WFC/FOC designs but the way Andrew draws them made me loosen up a bit on them.

And even then I still think that Don Fig's War Within cybertronian designs are better...and that coming from a guy who doesn't like War Within and DW in general....and who thinks that Don Fig is overrated as fuck...

Wow Prime's new form looks terrible. Just bulked up with no proportion. Now it looks like his chest just connect right to his waist.
