I smell fail. It's a Jack Black powered movie, for one. Second, all it does it copy a bunch of movies that were already made famous. That's nearly as unoriginal as it gets.

And Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny. And the letdown that was King Kong. And Nacho Libre. And Orange County. And Shallow Hal...

Jack Black + this film = FAIL.

Wow. Judging by the description of the movie, I can already know that it won't be any good. Pretty much a LOT of movies that starred Jack Black has been nothing but absolute shit, like Spartan Prime said. Hell, School of Rock is a prime example. And Nacho Libre, and King Kong, and so on, and so forth...

    I'd rent it.

I'm not going to go bashing the movie until I actually see it. ;)

It seems I'm one of a very small minority who actually liked King Kong.
Then again, I liked King Kong vs Godzilla too.

To be fair, KingKong was not Jack Black's movie, he was only a costar, but Nacho Libre was good, School or Rock and pick of destiny were dumb. A good ending for Jack Black can be found on the Jackal with Bruce Willis

IMHO Jack Black is awesome...as a buddy or a background character...In movies like Enemy Of The State he was good and he was AWESOME in High Fidelity...as the buddy...

The first time I ever heard of Jack Black was when I saw him as Barry in High Fidelity...and having read the book long before the movie came out, he WAS Barry. The casting in that movie was beyond perfect and that was Jack Black at his finest...before he became whatever it is he's become with movies like Shallow Hal and Orange County. :(

High Fidelity was the first time I can recall seeing Black in anything, and he pulled if off well. Trouble is, when he's playing the lead role in his own projects, he tends to have just one mode - manic.

hey everyone! It's not about jack black! Its directed by the same guy who directed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, Michel Gondry. So expect some low budget visual trickery and a lot of heart.

Don't knock it because its got jack black in it, and i guarantee you it will be more serious than you think. HE's not a comedy director at all.

AND who would knock Nacho Libre?! It was made for kids, and kids love it! I love it! It accomplished exactly what it set out to do.

Yeah Michael Gondry did The Science of Sleep and Spotless Mind. Those two films are really good. I expect some good things from Be Kind Rewind
