BigBadToyStore Update 2/9 - Transformers News - TFW2005
Good. I have hated hunting for the last few years. Thanks.
what is the retail price of these at tru? i havent been to one in like 4 months.
Toys R Us $5.99
What gets me is that if you spend $5000 or $5000000 with Hasbro you pay the same price. These are legion figures I really believe they should be $3.99 because they are so small.
hmm not a bad markup for megatron to avoid the hunt
And my pile of loot shipped!!!!
Heck, it's cheaper then TRU. Voyagers are $26.99 at TRU around here, and deluxes are $14.99.
Yeah but BBTS is way over priced if you buy three or four things you pay $20.00 thats a voyager figure. I would rather have that in my pocket. Then there's.
Do you know they pay the same price? Or are you just speculating.
And whether they pay the same price or not the difference in prices isn't just what they pay to Hasbro. There are a lot of other factors such as storage costs, turnover, opportunity costs, clientle preference that factor into the prices.
For instance, case assortment.
Toys R Us $5.99/per
Tru $21.99 voyagers
Go to Target or Wally World. $12.99 after Easter $11.99
My Husband and I use to own a store there prices are set in stone starting orders are $5000
$3.99 was the retail price like 5 years ago. Things cost more then they did then plus these come with weapons
Well we did fine selling at regular retail and our rent was $3700 per month I sold the business. Just tired of sitting in the same place all the time.
It cost Hasbro $1.29 to make, market and ship it here from Asia. And they mark it up 27% that's there profit.
But there are also differences between a single store and BBTS. BBTS's inventory system is pretty advanced and their CS is top notch. That will add to some of the costs also.
But you make a good point and I do wonder if BBTS can make more profit on sheer volume alone if they set prices at retail.
Oh I'm so tempted so grab them all. But I wanted to wait and see what the Takara versions were like... aaargh I want them now.
(I live in Australia, so paying BBTS prices is cheaper and easier than buying them retail here.)
The thing is not every retailer has the same strategy.
I have always considered BBTS the nordstrom's of toy stores. Could I go other places and find the same stuff cheaper? Sure, but I buy things from them for the same reasons I shop for groceries at Vons instead of Food for less. Some of us will pay extra for a different level of service.
Why do people feel the needs to constantly whine about there prices? just stop going to there site and stop looking at threads about them (not all meant for you but just BBTS haters in general)
I like the information that blackwidow1927 is giving. It's nice to hear a small business owner's point of view. At least it's based on some in-depth knowledge. To me, that's the difference between constructive criticism and whining.
Where are you located?
What kind of items did you sell in the store?
How long did you own the store?
How did you deal with Hasbro's case assortment and getting stuck with OP & BB?
Hasbro may have a "set" prices but when you are as big as Walmart oftentimes you get a kickback on the tail-end. Possible?
i might as well just order from bbts then go looking for them but i just love the chase. hell i found a dark steel but i had to leave him due to cash stortage. going back tomarrow to find it though
Also, can you help me understand. Is this what you are saying.
Hasbro manufacturing, market & ship - $1.29
Hasbro profit - $0.35
Retailer margin - $3.34 (retailer profit unknown)
Total - $4.99
