I'm guessing this. Amazon has the first block of exclusivity, then it becomes a shared exclusive for both. I'm going to go way out on a limb and say amazon will be well sold out before bbts opens their preorders, so bbts will likely be catering to the people who missed the amazon preorder, at a higher price.

Even if BBTS matches the price, the free Super Saver Shipping tips it in Amazon's favor for me. Glad I got my pre-order in.

 

There is no freaking way BBTS is going to sell an exclusive for less than what 5 loose figures is going to go for.

My bet is Amazon relists at a higher price and STILL undercuts whatever ridonkulous price BBTS lists for.

Amazon's not changing a price. The only way they would do that is if it went up accidentally at the wrong price. Since it went back up, we know that's not the case and they'll keep it.

So Amazon hasn't changed prices and BBTS won't share its price. Yup, I'm with those saying BBTS is just waiting Amazon out to list at something like $120.

 

Even if they do match Amazon, I think this fandom's been so desensitized to repaints over the last decade that the G2 penalty isn't enough to justify the premium on the G1 colors. That said, has anyone noticed the whopping $10 difference between preorders for retail Bruticus and the entire wave 2 case? Those leftover Primes and Jazzes average out to less than $4 each!

 

Yeah, it's wild. I like BBTS but people have been complaining about their FoC Deluxes in general.

I'm sure BBTS will increase the price, but I've already got 2 Amazon ones preordered to display together and separate. I prefer the G2 colours so much more then the G1 and would've gone G2 had they been the same price, so I'm ecstatic at the small price.
This seems weird though. By the time it goes up on BBTS, most people will have secured the ones they want. BBTS is taking a big risk on Amazon selling out and there still being a high interest for them.

 

I agree absolutely. I'd sooner get the G2 one than the SDCC version, so picking it up for so much less is just gravy.

Funny how knocking off $50 and improving the deco turned this from something I wasn't going to get to my most anticipated non-Soundwave TF.

Yeah, I wonder if they know anything to make it seem like a safer proposition. Maybe they figure it's not a bad thing to sit on spare stock, especially if FP or another third-party group might eventually make upgrades for it, which will cause demand to skyrocket.

 

For me it was all about the price.

If they had just released the set at normal retail but with G1 colors, I would have been even more excited.

 

This will be mine if I can't get SDCC Bruty.

While there's very little reason to believe BBTS pricing will be $59.99 (you also can't beat free shipping within the US), the BBTS avenue will allow others who want a double to be able to purchase one, given Amazon's limits. It's win-win.

 

Well, if its anything like the Seacons, you can count on buying them two years from now for $30.
