I know it might be a silly question but sence they came out i've checked their inventory on the set and its still at 985! I know I never thought about getting them unless it goes on mad clearence. What about you guys? Did anybody buy a set? Just curious...

I bought a set when they came out. Pretty neat set, only very minor mold degradation issues.

But yeah, the venture bombed on them pretty badly.

As prolific an online retailer as they are, they just can't move the numbers associated with mass retail.

I think people should be happy that they have more affordable G1 Seacons. BBTS did not expect to sell out soon anyways. They had to order a very large number of toys in order to keep the price so low. Compare this with the TakaraTomy 2010 Predaking set making the Seacons much better on the budget.

I bought it, and think it is great. It was nice for them to take a risk like that, and worth the $10 above MSRP if the choice was either them get it for $10 more or no one getting it at all. If it goes on clearance for $40, I will buy one or two more.

Not my favorite combiner, but it is good. Just glad there was a nice drop in price/increase in supply of available Club versions when this one was announced, cause I was able to pick that version up too at a very reasonable price (IMO) locally.

Approximately USD $63 upon release = Weak sale & these are everywhere...

...Till 1 month ago in TRUs all over the island...

Clearanced for 1/2 price = Shelves got emptied!

That's how popular these guys are. :lol

yah not a massive success, now if it had been a Construction reissue it would have literally flown out of BBTS' warehouse.

As cool as the Seacons are they just don't have much recognition value outside of collectors in the US, just about any other combiners would have likely sold better, with the possible exception of Monstructor as its even more obsure than the seacons.

Yea, I am not too into cartoons, so I don't think I will be troop building them anytime soon, but if they get down to $40, I will definately have one MISB and one scattered between beast and bot modes. Really want to pick up God Neptune someday, but really isn't a priority in my budget right now.

$60 or is a DEAL when it comes Seacons. If one is on the fence on this set, I highly recommend getting one.

Much agreed. The Seacons are my third favorite combiner team behind the Terrorcons and Predacons.

Right before this set came out, I completed my G1 set with the help of Kapow! Toys. Four Seacons complete were around $200. If you want to try collecting vintage versions, and track down each of those parts, have fun.

Actually, they're going through them pretty good. A few months ago I checked and they had 1800 or so there, so they're selling. I'm waiting for them to go down a little because I want to troop build.

They are selling at an average rate imo...I purchased a set to keep MISB when they first released...may pick up a second if they go on clearance but I'm not holding my breath for that...they will probably be close to gone by the end of the year...

Seacons may gain interest again if Shout! ever releases Masterforce.

I bought a set too. Never did have the full set, so it's nice to finally get one, despite the colors being just a little off from the original. I'm glad now I passed on that TFU set that became the club exclusive. I thought the Seacons might have flown from BBTS because of the people mad over that initial reissue too.

Bah, couldn't believe this got released literally the same day I finished my G1 Piranacon! I'd painstakingly collected him piece by piece, and it pained me to see him getting a re-release at such a cheap price! Oh well, at least I've got Nautilator.

I picked up a set and they're great. The stickers are kinda crap, but the toy is good.
