I have a gift certificate at Amazon to fritter away, and I have narrowed it down to these two. I desperately want both, but I really can only afford one at this point. What would you do?

Depends, do you have any of the molds in question already?

That should factor into it greatly. If you have them already then get the one you don't have. If you don't have either, what would you prefer 3 cartoon accurate Classics/Universe figures or a G1 Piranacon?

That is a hard call......I have both and like them both! I guess I would agree about getting the 3 pk since there will be no US release. BBTS prob has LOTS of Seacon sets so you can pick it up later.

lol.....I already have all of the molds already.....

Seacons: TFCC Exclusive and BWII set

    Classics: 2.0 Galvatron, 2.0 Cyclonus/SG Cyclonus, and 1.0 Rodimus/SG Rodimus

I'm getting the Protector set, but only the black one (to go with my SG Rodimus).

I like all of the molds very much, which is what makes the choice so tough.

I don't have a classics Rodimus and I really want one. But that's alot of doe since I already have Galvatron and Cyclonus. With that said, I'd go the Seacons. But If you don't have any molds in the 3 pack, get the 3 pack.

Who cares about resale value? If you're in this hobby it should be for love of the toys and fiction, not as some sort of investment plan. Lord...

I'd say Seacons since all three of the Cyb figs were released domestically recently. If you missed the domestic releases, then scour for them later, as the figs are easy to come across individually with the possible exception of Hot Rodimus

It still maybe the cheapest way to get a Classics Rodimus at this point.

If you have both molds and still want either sets, I would get the Challenge at Cybertron set. There will be plenty of Seacons left in the months to come.

Challenge at Cybertron is kind of lame, I hate HOTRODS colors. Go G1! Secon Set will always deliver!
I dont this the set will go up in value either way anytime soon.

If you really want something cool, get the Sons of Cybertron Clear Hotrod, that looks real cool!

I have to agree with aprim, I'm starting to really want all those clear Henkei figs, and have to convince myself on a daily basis not to chase them down yet.

lol....I got a Sons of Cybertron set but already traded it away. I loved Rodimus' alt mode, but wasn't wild about his robot mode (or Optimus in either mode). Losing the Rodimus mold in that trade almost makes me want the 3 pack more, but $60+s/h for a G1 gestalt is a great value. It will likely be a gametime decision.

My wife has a standing collection of the regular release of that Optimus. So the ltd ed clear one may give her a fleeting happy. That, and once I chase down all the clears, I'll pose up Hound making all sorts of hologram goodness, fightscene distractions, training battles for Autobots. I planned on putting in one where one of the Autobots shoots the clear Hot Rod and the real Hot Rod turns his face towards the bot and is like ...HEY!!!!

Has it been officially confirmed that this 3 pack is not going to be a Target exclusive?

My 2cents are get the seacons,as they look so good, and G1 is always gonna have the
most sentimental value.I have all 3 classics of Roddy,Galvy, and Cyclownus (yes I meant
to say that),and even tho they are nice just aren't the same even tho they are way better
articulated,to me the brick-ish G1's just remind of how times use to be when you played
with them back in 1984.But now the new stuff just seems too high tech with all the bells
and whistles. As my final thoughts I just say if I had to make the choice I would choose
G1 over the classics 3pack every time.
