While I applaud your efforts, you do realize that no matter how you get them WM still gets their cut of it (unless you buy from overseas) from what the eBay seller paid to buy them from WM.

I seriously don't understand why everyone thinks they only place they can order tfs from are BBTS, while they've been pleasant when I've dealt with them, there prices are almost always more than any other site, like say tfsource.

EDIT: I also went to my walmart and they were in the process of reseting the aisle....the lady said they'd be there anyday now....

Can't blame Joel, he couldn't have seen this coming. I'll leave my pre-order intact, but I'll be hitting up some Wal-Marts this weekend all the same.

Of course, if the Ebay seller is from the US, there's a good chance he picked them up from Wal-mart...

 

This has been addressed before. I am also a cost conscious buyer, but to some people cost isn't the number one concern. With BBTS you are going to get what you ordered, in the time frame promised, and in the condition advertised -- barring things like this that are completely out of their control. And, if you're unhappy for any reason, BBTS is going to make it right. I visited the warehouse a couple of months ago to interview Joel for a paper for one of my MBA classes (paper is actually due in two days) and I was astounded to hear about some of the things they do to keep customers happy.

 

But how is that diffrent than say any of theother online sellers like tfsource, digitaltoys, etc? I just dont understand why you'd want to pay an extra $10 or however much when you dont have to.

 

I don't have firsthand knowledge of those operations so I can't say what they're like. I can say that I was tremendously impressed by what BBTS has set up from an operational perspective. I didn't know what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised.

In addition to what I said before, BBTS has also been around for a LONG time (Joel's been selling since EBay was new) and the reputation of the store is golden. Those other places -- who knows? For all we know, they're operating out of some guys basement.

 

Well I think customer service is very important and I'm not saying you should deal with who you want to deal with, just a matter of curiousity, most of the online stores I haven't had a problem with really.

 

I have ordered from TFsource, Digital Toys, and BBTS. They have all delivered what was expected with exeption to DT taking really long for my G1 Megs and I think weather may have been a factor.

But when It comes down to it, unless I am using pile of loot to order a bunch of stuff, or if it is unavailable anywhere else besides BBTS, I will go with TF source from now on, the fact that the prices are $10 to $15 lower ant TFsource and the fact that my items were packed with such love seal the deal.

I guess it all comes down to convience and desire though. I paid more for a TRyu Soundwave in Dec bacause I wanted the guarantee I would get it. Other may feel the same about these alts.

 

But the thing about TFSource is, they don't carry Alts. Mostly Japanese stuff.

Don't get me wrong, though. I've done business with both stores and both are excellent.
