skalor does have that gap in his head. im fine with the diff colored pieces, love this thing regardless. nice job.

the small issue dont worry me, its nice to look forward to a set i can just mess around with, paying $250 for a vintage set would be managable (if still insane) but id be almost afraid to play with it!! I always loved teh look of the individual bots, my fave of the gestalts, just quirky and simple.

jeez, if I wasn't waiting for a few more things to be released so I can ship my entire POL together, I'd buy one of these guys right this second

 

I assume the reason Overbite's purple was toned down, despite still being a different plastic color, is because they decided to homogenize the team's colors. Snaptrap's head makes slightly less sense, as the black was paint and not molded (I think?), so I guess it just got budgetted out. Though it doesn't look bad.

Awesome review...I have a question about the colors though. I thought that this was the first time this set was being reissued in "the original G1 color scheme" according to BBTS. I did not have this set as a kid, so I am going by the review. It sounds like the colors are off compared to the original? Does "original G1 color scheme" refer to the cartoon?

 

The colors are the same except for 3 minor changes. Unlike God Neptune of the TFCC set, which were a completely new deco across the board

 

As for the balance problem for Snaptrap, I think he could do better with the turtle legs folded down.

I do remember Skalor's fists being ridiculously tight so that's not a QC problem for the reissue.

I used to have most of the set but I was foolish enough to sell it at some point. Definitely getting this.

 

did you try putting snaptraps gun in his left hand to see if it fit there and his sword in the right?

The only thing I dont like about it, personally, is the 100% preapplied stickers. Im sure printing the label sheets would of added some cost, but still ;;.

 

Wait, three? I got Overbite's Purple and Snaptrap's robot head. What's the third?

 

I so need to start saving money, or start selling pieces, to save for all my preorders I have up on bbts right now... crap that's nice though, good job peaugh!
