I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't follow anything until I see the movie. Not even watch a trailer. Is anyone doing similar?

    Thanks, Awesomepow.

I'll definitely watch the two main trailers (or three, if this movie gets more than two) and follow the marketing over the summer and early fall. I try to stay away from international trailers and TV spots, unless they are released very early. The main marketing blitz will probably kick in around October, and that's when I'll probably ease off on watching stuff and following it.

I'm actually thinking of getting as spoiled as possible on this one. Tired of my hopes being dashed.

I agree and I might do the Same cos there already isn't enough excitement in me from this film to not be bothered about Spoilers.

Plus I'm still not even sure I want to see this in theaters.

The way I see it, the marketing, reveals, waiting for the trailers, etc are half the fun of a movie (if not the majority of the fun). Without months of buildup the movie is just two hours of excitement in December. If you follow the marketing, movies can be a year-long event!

I definitely understand people wanting to stay away from spoilers, but I've never felt the need to completely stay away from marketing. I have friends who refuse to watch any movie trailers, and I've always felt like they're really missing out. Trailers and marketing generally know not to show spoilers, because they'd lose a lot of their audience.

In my experience, the main things you really have to worry about are international trailers, TV spots, and promo clips. Mostly they just show too much cool stuff that I would prefer to see on the big screen. If you stay away from stuff about a month or two before the movie, you should be fine. Sometimes plot details will leak out early, but that usually happens during filming. If nothing's been spoiled yet, odds are it won't be until a month or two before release.

Watch the trailers... just avoid the forum discussions.

I would watch the first trailer and then see if you want to see more from there.

Yeah. As nice as it would be to be surprised by a good TF movie if it actually is, I'm too eager to suss it out as soon as possible.

It's the first non-Bay live action movie in the franchise, it's completely up in the air on what the quality could be.

There's no chance of me intentionally avoiding marketing! :lol

Always do my best to avoid spoilers though.

I unintentionally avoid trailers-as in, I'm too lazy to look up when new trailers will come out lol.
Usually I'll just watch the first one.

Hell I heavily anticipated Infinity War and I only saw the first trailer.

I never watch trailers, except of AOE, when I accidentally saw it during the opening of Sochi Olympiad! And it just had blown away my mind:D

Just gonna watch the theatrical trailers, they’ve been pretty good in the past of not spoiling things. It’s the tv spots that I try and stay away from they normally makes too many, and reveal far too much.

I'll try to do something different and only watch the Trailers, except the Final Trailer, and avoid TV Spots this time. I'll probably slip up when a news post says a new character was spotted in one of the TV Spots.

I am hoping we are not flooded with TV spots and trailers like TLK, saw half of the movie before it hit theaters.
