I totally agree here. I think AM really captured the essence of Animated and the Movieverse amalgamated together. Animated did the same with G1 and even BW. Haters gonna hate, bud Just don't tell Prime, 'cause he wants bots to "give me your face!"
The rocket booster should go into that gaping hole in car mode - it's perfect for that. Other than that, it's cool, although I think his chest looks more suited to a fembot. He's stacked!
Crazy idea this - but nice execution! ...never realized until this mod - but this mold looks like it could be turned into a kitbashed TF: Prime BB too...
That's kind of the idea, WE were going for a set to auction that would fit inbetween the animated series' and movie looks yet emulate all the look. If you click on the tag on this "Sector70 charity 2010" you can see all that have been posted thus far.
Nice custom, aside from the face. The bodywork is nice and clean, and the angular vehicle mode from really ties in with the angular look of Animated. the face, though, it doesn't look like Movie Bumblebee, or... anything, really. Mostly the eyes, but partially the mouthplate, I would've made it look a little more like a rebreather or something. It's just a circle on his mouth, and look odd. And the insect eyes are crazy. Movie BB didn't have bug eyes, he had big eyes but they weren't protruding. I suggest just resculpting Roddy's eyes to be wider and more innocent, or make them look like goggles. I like the modifications to the feet. Really helps redefine the shape of the legs. And since when is genuine constructive critism hate?
Yeah, but SPLIT_LIP has given your work a fair handshake. He's evaluated, and commented on his likes and dislikes with your work along with providing reasons for each. This is criticism. A good critic takes the good with the bad and discusses all points. JUST saying "that sucks" is hatin' on a piece. That is an example of negative criticism at the very most. It may not be against rules, but it's certainly frowned on by the Radicons Community and it's absolutely of no help to the artist (it's not against the rules to point out how unhelpful such a post is either). I actually like the head sculpting work you've done as it's a simplification of the basic design of the movie Bumblebee. While I think SPLIT_LIP is really onto something with his suggestions, I dig what you've done here.
haha, as I said he critiqued my work, not bashed it. no problems here. If I wanted everyone to like my work I'd be SOL. this all boils down to the same bi-polar arguement that spawns every RIRFIB/FIRRIB discussion. I like what I've done with bb. although I would liked to have gotten the blast to fit under the trunk, it was an 11th hour addition and I have a LOT to do.
Aside from some paint issues, I really like this idea. It's imaginative and eye-catching. The face might be a bit exaggerated, but it seems to match the rest of this "combined aesthetic" thing that's going on with the rest of the figure. I also think this is a good alternative to the BB we've been handed for Transformers: Prime, because from what we've seen, that show is essentially a blending of Animated and Movieverse styles as well. Good job. It may be a bit "power ranger-y" but that might be part of why I like it.
Yes we had started this days before we heard of "prime" and when the design art came out we were releaved that they went in the opposite direction, more movie figures given "animated" features.
An interesting idea, and the painting is well done, but I don't dig this because of what died to make it.
